"We're descending toward Hill Valley, California, at 4:29 pm, on Wednesday, October 21st, 2015."
I was expecting Hot Toys to reveal pictures of their 1/6th scale "Back to the Future II" Marty McFly 12-inch figure today since it's October 21, 2015 - known all over the world as Back to the Future Day, the date that Marty McFly and Dr Emmett “Doc” Brown chose to travel forward in time from 1985 in the hit sequel Back To The Future II.
I have seen the prototype figure on display at the Hot Toys booth at the Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention (STGCC) 2015 - see my toy blog post HERE - but even then, the head sculpt just wasn't up to the standard we have come to expect of Hot Toys and they know it which is why they never reveal the face of Marty McFly (Michael J Fox) even in the teaser picture released.
According to the time-bending 1980s sci-fi flick, by October 21 2015, we would be living in a world of hoverboards, flying cars and self-tying shoelaces. And now that the day has actually arrived. While we’re no nearer to a flying car than when the film was released in 1989, it got some things right.
And Hot Toys 1/6th scale "Back to the Future II" Marty McFly 12-inch figure will come with the jacket that dries itself and shoes that lace themselves up as well as the Hover Board. Now where's that Pepsi bottle?
