Review Kaustic Plastik 1/6 scale Athletik Muscle Body KP03B Caucasian version - AWESOME

Kaustic Plastik first started out with their 1/6 scale Ancient Rome Gladiators series which did very well - check out my reviews of the Kaustic Plastik 1/6 "Celadus" 12-inch Roman Gladiator Figure HEREHERE and HERE as well as the Kaustic Plastik 1/6 "Astacius" Retiarius 12-inch roman gladiator figure HERE and HERE. Not one to rest on their laurels, Kaustic Plastik has already begun work on their Ancient Roman Army 12-inch figures. Not only that, but they have also come out with their very own 12-inch figures to rival those of Hot Toys and other more high end (and expensive) 12-inch figure bodies. The guys at Kaustic Plastik (Fabio and Danilo) believe in producing high quality products at very reasonable prices because they have the collectors' interests at heart, being 1/6 scale enthusiasts themselves.

So here's a first look at the Kaustic Plastik 1/6 scale Athletik Muscle Body KP03B Caucasian version which comes with 1/6 scale realistic head sculpt, 12-inch figure with more than 40 Points of articulation plus Extraordinarily life-like muscle definition body, 4 posing hands and Improved legs mechanism. The company has assured us that the bodies are made of extremely durable plastic (PVC and ABS) for lifetime enjoyment - no worries about cracking rubber bodies :) Scroll down to see more pictures

The Kaustic Plastik 1/6 scale Athletik Muscle Body KP03B Caucasian version comes packaged just like how all standard bodies are packed these days - in a clam shell clear packaging that shows off the figure right away, including the two extra hands. No figure stand is included because it is not necessary :) Their bodies are designed to stand very well without falling over.

Here's the Kaustic Plastik 1:6 scale Athletik Muscle Body KP03B Caucasian version straight out of the box. Just like all 12-inch figures, these bodies are suitable for 1:6 scale fabric costumes / outfits and accessories. The heads, hands and feet are interchangeable with other 12-inch figure manufacturers. The company does caution that compatibility is based on each individual manufacturer's product so discretion is advised prior to purchasing products.

Scroll down to see the turnaround views of the KP03 Athletik Muscle Body from front to side to back to side and then to front again. Scroll down even further to see the amazing poses this figure can hold. I really enjoyed toying with this new12-inch figure body and was pleasantly surprised and delighted at the poses he can hold without tumbling over.

Enough with the static standing poses. How about checking out some of the dynamic realistic looking action poses you can get from this newly released Kaustic Plastik 1:6 scale Athletik Muscle Body KP03B Caucasian version.

Here's a "Freeze, a$$hole! or I shoot" pose. I added the Glock pistol for effect as well as had him put on a pair of shorts because I didn't want him to get cold ;p

He certainly holds the pose rather nicely and has no problems staying up. Joints are stiff and tight and very ideal for posing and holding poses.

Below are some close-up shots (pun intended) / pictures of the "Extraordinarily life-like muscle definition body" that comes with this Kaustic Plastik 1/6 scale Athletik Muscle Body KP03B Caucasian version.

The muscular chest is flexible enough (it's soft and squeezable) to allow the arms to go across the chest or even brought to the centre for both hands to clasp the pistol without any problems.

You can also get a better view of the 1/6 scale caucasian head sculpt from these close-up shots although I am not able to tell who he is supposed to resemble (if any). It could be just a generic head but usually companies tend to base their head sculpts on someone famous.

I like that he has a no-nonsense look about him i.e. he won't take any nonsense from anyone!

The KP03 12-inch figure is also able to take a knee (kneel) comfortably and look good doing it too. You can get very natural poses out of this guy.

A view from the back

And a view to a kill ;p

And how's this for a slide and shoot maneuver? I wouldn't be too concerned about the joints showing because most times the figure will be wearing something - a suit, BDU (Battle Dress Uniform) or an outfit over the body. The part that is most often left exposed would be the neck and the neck here is very good. You can tilt the head to the sides without any problem as the neck is flexible enough.

I really like this Kaustic Plastik 1/6 scale Athletik Muscle Body KP03B Caucasian version for what it can do and how he looks very natural doing it. Highly recommended!

continued from previous post...

Here's even more of the same :) I liked toying with this new Kaustic Plastik 1/6 scale Athletik Muscle Body KP03B Caucasian version figure so much I ended up posing him quite a bit and taking quite a lot of pictures. These are the narrowed down and selected ones for posting on my toy blog. I've already posted pictures of the package and some action poses in my previous post. You can check them out HERE

The picture above shows the KP03B Caucasian figure executing a MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) move ;p Why not? MMA is all the rage right now and even the everyday person is taking up the sport. I wanted to show how much the figure can bend at the legs as well as the ability of the arms to cross over the chest and hold the pose. Scroll down to see other poses I did with this figure

Here's Kaustic Plastik 1/6 scale Athletik Muscle Body KP03B Caucasian with the Glock pistol he had used in the previous post, shooting bad guys and such ;p

Even in a relaxed post, he looks good. That's because of the "Extraordinarily life-like muscle definition body" the guys at Kaustic Plastik have given him

Kaustic Plastik 1/6 scale Athletik Muscle Body KP03B Caucasian version which comes with 1/6 scale realistic head sculpt, 12-inch figure with more than 40 Points of articulation plus Extraordinarily life-like muscle definition body, 4 posing hands and Improved legs mechanism. The company has assured us that the bodies are made of extremely durable plastic (PVC and ABS) for lifetime enjoyment - no worries about cracking rubber bodies

Always great to know that there are other alternate bodies available out there (cheap and good) besides Hot Toys. Gives us more options and saves us even more money.

Here's a hand-to-hand combat fighting pose. Everybody's got to know a few fighting moves when it gets up close and personal.

I put the question out on facebook to ask if anybody knows who this is supposed to be and I got quite a few replies :) Some say he looks like Chazz Palminteri; some others mentioned he resembled Ray Stevenson (the Punisher and most recently, as Firefly in "G.I. Joe Retaliation" the movie) with a mix of Jeremy Renner and another guy said: Kevin Durand. Thanks for all the replies guys.

Truth is, Mick (a fellow blogger) pointed out that although Kaustic Plastik "always find inspiration in real life people, they do not like to make “replicas” of real actors or famous persons. They simply regard it as an artistic inspiration. They have given the sculptures a personal touch so that in the end the finished sculpture only bears a slight resemblance with the original person. Sometimes they even combine two different real life people in one single sculpture."

Be it as it may, I think this latest Kaustic Plastik 1/6 scale Athletik Muscle Body KP03B Caucasian can strike some pretty nice poses ;p

This figure is very sturdy and the joints are nice and tight so that he can hold any pose you put him in. But to get him to execute the jumping knee pose (as seen below), I had to enlist the help of a figure stand because in this instant, he's not even on the ground any more.

I wanted to show how the body can curl up for this pose as well as show how high the knee can be raised and how the joints work.

Just like what the company says: "Improved legs mechanism and Extraordinarily life-like muscle definition body".

Kaustic Plastik 1/6 scale Athletik Muscle Body KP03B Caucasian version also comes with 1/6 scale realistic head sculpt, 12-inch figure with more than 40 Points of articulation and a total of 4 posing hands.

Review Kaustic Plastik 1/6 scale Athletik Muscle Body KP03C Afro (African) American version

continued from previous post...

The previous two posts covered the Kaustic Plastik 1/6 scale Athletik Muscle Body KP03B Caucasian version which is a very nice 12-inch figure body for use with 1:6 scale fabric costumes / outfits and accessories. This is the Kaustic Plastik 1/6 scale Athletik Muscle Body KP03C Afro (African) American version. Whatever the Caucasian version can do, this Afro American can do it just as well. So I decided not to let them both do the same thing so that you can see a greater range these bodies can achieve :)

While the guys at Kaustic Plastik had us guessing who the caucasian is supposed to resemble, this 1/6 scale Afro (African) American head sculpt is more obvious. Who do I see? I see a lot of resemblance to Al Matthews who played Sergeant Al Apone in the 1986 science fiction action film "Aliens" directed by James Cameron. That's why I have him holding the 1/6 scale M41A Pulse Rifle which belongs to Hot Toys United States Colonial Marines (USCM) Corporal Dwayne Hicks (Michael Biehn) 12-inch figure. You can see the pictures of the USCM at my earlier toy blog post HERE.

The Kaustic Plastik 1/6 scale Athletik Muscle Body KP03C Afro (African) American version comes packaged just like how all standard bodies are packed these days - in a clam shell clear packaging that shows off the figure right away, including the two extra hands. No figure stand is included because it is not necessary :) Their bodies are designed to stand very well without falling over.

This is the ebony to the earlier ivory ;p if you know what I mean

Enough with the static standing poses. How about checking out some of the dynamic realistic looking action poses you can get from this newly released Kaustic Plastik 1:6 scale Athletik Muscle Body KP03C Afro (African) American version

Here's the Kaustic Plastik 12-inch Athletik Muscle Body KP03C Afro (African) American version posing with a 1/6 scale M41A Pulse Rifle from "Aliens". NOTE: The weapon and shorts are NOT included. I added those myself because I didn't want him to get cold ;p

The KP03 certainly holds the pose rather nicely and has no problems staying up. Joints are stiff and tight and very ideal for posing and holding poses.

Below are some close-up shots / pictures of the "Extraordinarily life-like muscle definition body" that comes with this Kaustic Plastik 1/6 scale Athletik Muscle Body KP03C Afro (African) American version.

Besides Al Matthews, I also see a likeness to Danny Glover who played Roger Murtaugh in the "Lethal Weapon" movie series beside Mel Gibson who played Martin Riggs. Those were good old days :)

Here he's being armed with a 1/6 scale Heckler & Koch H&K MP5SD (SD—Schalldämpfer German for "sound suppressor") which features an integral but detachable aluminium sound suppressor and a lightweight bolt.

And of course, one cannot neglect the all too familiar M4 Rifle, tried and tested in so many wars by so many different units of the United States, in the various countries the troops have been sent in to fight.

Last but not least, here's the Kaustic Plastik 1/6 scale Athletik Muscle Body KP03C Afro (African) American version armed with just a knife to show off the stance it can hold and the flexibility of the arms to go across the chest.

You can get lots of nice poses with these Kaustic Plastik 1/6 scale Athletik Muscle Body KP03 figures and they don't even cost as much as the Hot Toys TrueType bodies.

GREAT news for those of you who missed out on the Art-Figures: SAVES "Punisher: War Zone" 12-inch Figure that was released sometime back. This was the 1/6 scale figure that put Art Figures on all 12-inch collectors radar because their first Punisher-inspired figure made everyone sit up and take notice. If you haven't seen the much talked about and much sought after figure yet, check out the pictures I've posted HERE and HERE :)

Well it seems we all have another chance for a shot at a 1/6 scale "Punisher: War Zone" Ray Stevenson as Frank Castle / The Punisher 12-inch figure again, all thanks to VTS Toys (which by the way is also DAM Toys)

This is the VTS Toys 1/6 scale The Revenger 12-inch figure - Is he or isn't he the Ray Stevenson Frank Castle Punisher? I think the answer seems pretty obvious. This is NOT a re-issue or re-release. This is new and more movie-accurate than the previously released figure by Art Figures. He comes with lots of goodies and by that I mean his arsenal of weapons for mayhem is more complete! Scroll down to see the pictures and promise you won't drool.

VTS Toys VM-009 1/6 scale The Revenger 12-inch figure will come with 1/6 scale real like head sculpt, 12-inch action figure body, black sweater, combat pants, BDU belt, black combat boots, tactical gloves, watch, body armor, combat belt, AR-15 magazine holster, grenade pouch x 2, fragmentation grenade x 2, CQC holster with drop leg platform, CQC holster with molle platform, CQC pistol mag holster x 2

AR15 carbine with reflex sight, suppressor, grenade launcher, rail cover x 2, AR-15 mag 1 + 1, 40mm grenade x 3, tactical rifle sling

Beretta 92 pistol x 2, pistol mag x 2,

tactical mod revolver with micro red dot scope and weapon light with laser, revolver rounds x 6, revolver drop leg holster, combat knife with scabbard

Check out the 1/6 scale Ray Stevenson as Frank Castle / The Punisher head sculpt

Nice knife you got there, Castle or should I call you Frank?

one (1) pair of palms for holding gun, palm for gripping his knife, one (1) pair of palms with gloves

In other words, this figure is loaded with a pair of Beretta 92FS Inox pistols; a Smith & Wesson Model 500 Performance Center Magnum with a Knight's Armament RIS setup, tactical flashlight, laser, and a black suppressor installed; and a custom M4A1-type carbine equipped with KAC Quad-rails, a C-More red dot optic sight, an Advanced Armament Corp M4-2000 suppressor, and a short-barreled AG36 grenade launcher!

Can't wait for this to hit the stores. Excited!

Pre-order Medicom Toys RAH Batman: Hush 1/6 scale Catwoman & Harley Quinn 12-inch Figures

Batman: Hush is a 2002-2003 comic book story arc that ran through the Batman monthly series. It was written by Jeph Loeb, and penciled by Jim Lee, inked by Scott Williams and colored by Alex Sinclair. The story depicts a mysterious stalker, head wrapped in bandages, called Hush, who seems intent on sabotaging Batman from afar, and utilizes a large number of guest appearances by Batman villains. It also emphasizes the romantic feelings between Batman and Catwoman.

Having already released Real Action Heroes (RAH) 1/6th scale Hush Batman and Joker 12-inch Figures earlier (see my toy blog post HERE), it only stands to reason that Medicom Toys would follow up with these RAH (Real Action Hero) Batman: Hush 1/6 scale Catwoman and Harley Quinn 12-inch Figures.

Dr. Harleen Frances Quinzel, also known as Harley Quinn, first appeared in the Batman: The Animated Series episode "Joker's Favor" (episode #08, original air date: September 11, 1992) where she served as a humorous female sidekick to the Joker. In her first appearances she was depicted as a character completely devoted to the Joker, totally oblivious to his psychotic nature and his obvious lack of affection for her - a characterization that has remained more or less consistent throughout her subsequent appearances. Her name is a play on the word 'harlequin'. Scroll down to see all the pictures of both Catwoman & Harley Quinn.

The origin of Harley Quinn was recounted in a 1994 graphic novel The Batman Adventures: Mad Love. Told in the style and continuity of Batman: The Animated Series and written and drawn by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm (two of the producers of the animated series and Harley's creators), the comic book revealed Harley's origins as an Arkham Asylum psychiatrist who fell in love with the Joker. The story was widely praised and won the Eisner and Harvey Awards for Best Single Issue Comic of the Year.

The Mad Love story was originally thought too violent for the animated series, though it was eventually adapted in The New Batman Adventures series episode "Mad Love" in 1999. This made it the first "animated style" comic book which was adapted for the series (the other being a holiday special adapted into the episode "Holiday Knights").

Selina Kyle, also known as Catwoman, is a fictional character associated with DC Comics' Batman franchise and created by Bill Finger and Bob Kane. Currently potrayed as an orphan who learned to survive on Gotham City's streets, Selina took to thievery to survive... but determined to do it in style, she learned martial arts and trained extensively to perfect her skills in cat burglary.

She regularly eludes capture by the Dark Knight and maintains a complicated, adversarial relationship with Batman that frequently turns flirtatious and occasionally, legitimately romantic. She's one of Batman's best known loves. Her main crime is only thievery, as killing is against her own moral code thus making her more of an anti-hero rather than true villain and she currently only steals from gangsters and mobsters. She is one of Batman's most trusted allies at the moment.

Catwoman is a trained gymnast and athlete, as well as an expert hand-to-hand combatant. She is also highly skilled with her specialized whip, a bullwhip combined with "cat-o'-nine-tails", and capable of astonishing stealth. She puts these incredible skills to use as she pursues her obsession with stealing famous works and jewelry, at which she is especially adept. She is also drawn irresistibly to cat motifs, and seems to possess an empathy for feline species.

The original and most widely known Catwoman, Selina Kyle, first appeared in Batman #1 (Spring 1940) in which she was known as The Cat. As an adversary of Batman, she was a whip-carrying burglar with a taste for high stake thefts. Modern writers have attributed her activities and costumed identity as a response to a history of abuse.

Here's another General but not of the Roman kind which I had posted on earlier HERE.

Guan Yu (died 219), style name Yunchang, was a general serving under the warlord Liu Bei in the late Eastern Han Dynasty of China. He played a significant role in the civil war that led to the collapse of the Han Dynasty and the establishment of the state of Shu Han in the Three Kingdoms period, of which Liu Bei was the first emperor. (source: wiki)

As one of the best known Chinese historical figures throughout East Asia, Guan's true life stories have largely given way to fictionalised ones, most of which are found in the historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms or passed down the generations, in which his deeds and moral qualities have been lionised. Guan is respected as an epitome of loyalty and righteousness.

303 Toys new China series 1/6 scale Guan Yu (Yunchang) 12-inch figure will come with 1/6 scale head sculpt with movable moustache, hat, cloak, full armor, Dragon robes, clothes, trousers, shorts, Dragon belt, leather belt, cloth belt, waist support s 2, copper ornaments, shoes, hands x 5 and metal knife. The 1/6 horse will come with reins, saddles, stirrups, leather and ornaments. Lastly there's the 1/6 scale Senki which comes with flag and flag stand.

World Premier of Hot Toys 1/6 scale Iron Man 2 Armored Whiplash (Mark II) 12" figure at Bugis

The much anticipated Hot Toys 1/6 scale Iron Man 2 Armored Whiplash (Mark 2) 12-inch limited edition collectible figure makes its debut in Singapore :) Yup, we are the first in the world to preview and see this latest Hot Toys figure and what a beauty it is! Where can you see this? Head on down to the Action City Iron Man 3 Hot Toys Collectible Figurines Exhibition @ Bugis Junction happening from now (April 29) till May 5, 2013.

Whiplash is the most common name used to refer to the armor built by Ivan Vanko in the style of the Iron Man armor built by Tony Stark. After the first armor was destroyed by Stark with the Iron Man, a second armor was constructed. Both armors were powered by an arc reactor much like the Iron Man armor. This Hot Toys Whiplash Mark II (An upgraded version of the suit using Justin Hammer's resources) is simply a masterpiece in toy engineering with its multi-layers of armor. Scroll down to see more pictures and click on them for a bigger and better view. Until Hot Toys releases their preview pictures, these are the only ones available at the moment. ENJOY ;p

For those of us living in Singapore, we have until May 5 to enjoy this beauty up close before it moves on to the next country. Check it out at the Action City Hot Toys 1/6th scale Iron Man Collectible Armors Assemble exhibition being held at Bugis Junction which starts today.

Here's a quick look at the exhibition area set up. More pictures to follow showing the other figures on display in the next post.

There's also the Play Imaginative Super Alloy 1/4 scale Iron Man: Preview Showcase (check out my earlier post HERE) happening at the same place but I can tell you that the Action City Hot Toys booth blows Play Imaginative's exhibition out of the water with their dynamic poses and ultra cool figures on display :)

Check out my NEXT post for the pictures.

The PPS001 Iron Man 3: 1/6th scale Power Pose Mark XLII certainly looks impressive!

Oops! Pardon the blu tac at his crotch. Nothing I can do about that. I just take pictures of what I see and post here in my toy blog to share with everyone. Perhaps some kinks need to be ironed out haha

And then there's the huge 1:1 scale Iron Man 3 Mark XLII which strikes almost the same pose as the PPS001 1/6th scale Power Pose Iron Man 3 Mark XLII but being an actual size model, it makes for some great photo-taking opportunities and certainly draws in the crowds.

It's quite well done too. Disney / Marvel didn't even have this statue at the movie screenings. Hot Toys and Action City are the only ones displaying this. Kudos to them

Here you see the Hot Toys 1:4 scale Iron Man 3 Mark XLII bust up close

There's also the Hot Toys 1:4 scale Iron Man 3 Iron Patriot bust on display as well

No 1:6 scale Don Cheadle head sculpt seen on display but this figure is very impressive nonetheless. I am excited about this figure

Hot Toys Iron Man 3 Mark XLII and Iron Patriot figures showcased at the Action City Hot Toys 1/6th scale Iron Man Collectible Armors Assemble exhibition posted HERE.

What's next? How about the Hot Toys Iron Man 3 1/6 scale Tony Stark (Armor Testing Version) Collectible Figure with his Hall of Armor suits on display! This is the updated Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark Head Sculpt plus Additional Right Forearm Armor that was added to pair up with the left one after taking into consideration fans’ comments and requests. What do you think?

This is actually the first MMS (Movie Masterpiece Series) figure from the latest Iron Man 3 movie by Hot Toys and it shows Tony Stark as he appeared in his workshop testing out his newest and latest armor suit, the Mark XLII among all the other Iron Man armor suits (from Mark I to Mark VII). Scroll down to see the rest of the pictures :) I've got lots to share.

This display is very impressive because you get to see all the seven Iron Man armor suits (Mark I to VII) from all the previous Iron Man films as well as the Mark VII from The Avengers movie being displayed in the Hall of Armor just as how it appeared in the movie. It's quite a sight to behold!

Tony comes fully dressed and a LED-light up stage with cardboard underneath is also included

Also comes with articulated mechanical robot with wheels and camera

Plus a desk with wheels and additional armor parts (helmet, face mask, neck support, elbow, palm and leg armors) as well as magazine, blueprints, electrical wires and tools (pincers and screwdrivers)

What caught a lot of people's eyes and attention was this particular display which showed a complete breakdown of the parts that go into making a Hot Toys Iron Man figure. Fans curious to know the making-of process are shown for the first time the over 300 parts of armor required to bring the amazing precision and movie-accurate likeness to life. It's a 1/6th scale Iron Man Collectible Armors Assembly display board and it's certainly quite amazing. Click on the picture for a bigger and better view :)

And of course there's the slightly more assembled Iron Man Mark II (Armor Unleashed version) from the Iron Man 2 movie

You know the drill ;p click to view

There's also the Hot Toys MMS 1/6 scale Iron Man Mark VII from The Avengers film on display at the Action City Hot Toys 1/6th scale Iron Man Collectible Armors Assemble (Iron Man Figurines) exhibition

Many people had queued up on Monday morning for this figure – the battle damaged Iron Man Mark VII (movie promo edition) as seen in The Avengers film which is limited to 300 pieces.

With battle damaged figures, it's easier for the company to sell because nobody can complain about the paint being chipped off or a scratch here and there since the figure is meant to have paint chipped off and scratches all over - it's supposed to because it's BATTLE DAMAGED. It's like paying good money for a beat up car instead of a brand new one. Heck, in this case, the beat up car costs a lot more too.

What else is there at the Action City Hot Toys Iron Man Figurines Exhibition held at Bugis Singapore until May 5, 2013? Check out my NEXT post to find out ;p

This is my fourth and final toy blog post of my visit to the Action City Hot Toys 1/6th scale Iron Man Collectible Armors Assemble (Iron Man Figurines) exhibition held at Bugis Junction from April 28 till May 5, 2013 in conjunction with the release of the Iron Man 3 movie in Singapore. And what other Hot Toys Iron Man figures were on display? Well, just the usual suspects.

Starting with the Hot Toys 1/6 scale Iron Monger from the first Iron Man film highlighting the 1/6 scale head sculpt of Jeff Bridges as Obadiah Stane who in the movie attempts to destroy Tony Stark / Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr) with the Iron Monger armor based on the remains of Stark's Mark I armor obtained from the Ten Rings. Scroll down to see more pictures plus the remaining figures seen at the exhibition booth.

Also on display, the Hot Toys 1/6 scale Iron Man Mark I (version 2.0) figure from the Iron Man film, with flamethrower that "shoots out flames"

And then there's the Hot Toys "Iron Man 2" 1/6th scale Mark IV Limited Edition Collectible Figurine (Secret Project) which was a 2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive.

Finally, there's the Hot Toys 1/6 Iron Man 2 Suit-Up Gantry with Mark IV Limited Edition Collectible Set.

The Iron Man 2 Suit-Up Gantry also looks like a torture machine ;p

That about covers the Hot Toys Iron Man collectible figures seen at the Action City Hot Toys Iron Man Collectible Armors Assemble (Iron Man Figurines) exhibition held at Bugis Junction until May 5, 2013. Hope you all enjoyed the posts. I was most excited with the revealing of the 1/6 scale Whiplash Mark II armor suit at this exhibition on April 28, a world's first for Singapore :) You can check out my toy blog post HERE

There's also the Play Imaginative Super Alloy 1/4 scale Iron Man: Preview Showcase (check out my earlier post HERE) happening at the same place so you can check out both exhibits at the same time if you head down now

Coming soon: DID 1/6 British Military Intelligence Section 6 (MI6) Agent "Jack" 12-inch Spy Figure

Well, DID did it again ;p they managed to put out a very secret agent figure under the guise of a MI6 agent and named him "Jack" to avoid all the hoo-ha just in case. Wait... what? Instead of James, it's Jack and as for him being an MI6 Agent, that he has always been.

James Bond, code name 007, is a fictional character created in 1953 by writer Ian Fleming, who featured him in twelve novels and two short-story collections. The fictional British Secret Service agent has also been adapted for television, radio, comic strip, and video game formats in addition to having been used in the longest continually running and the second-highest grossing film franchise to date, which started in 1962 with Dr. No, starring Sean Connery as Bond. As of 2013, there have been twenty-three films in the Eon Productions series. The most recent Bond film, Skyfall (2012), stars Daniel Craig in his third portrayal of Bond; he is the sixth actor to play Bond in the Eon series. (source: wiki)

The Secret Intelligence Service (SIS), commonly known as MI6 (Military Intelligence, Section 6), is the agency which supplies Her Majesty's Government with foreign intelligence. It is frequently referred to by the name MI6 (Military Intelligence, Section 6), a name used as a flag of convenience during the Second World War when it was known by many names. The existence of MI6 was not officially acknowledged until 1994.

The Bond films are renowned for a number of features, including the musical accompaniment, with the theme songs having received Academy Award nominations on several occasions, and one win. Other important elements which run through most of the films include Bond's cars, his guns, and the gadgets with which he is supplied by Q Branch.

As the central figure for his works, Ian Fleming created the fictional character of James Bond, an intelligence officer in the Secret Intelligence Service, commonly known as MI6. Bond was also known by his code number, 007, and was a Royal Naval Reserve Commander.

Fleming took the name for his character from that of the American ornithologist James Bond, a Caribbean bird expert and author of the definitive field guide Birds of the West Indies. Fleming, a keen birdwatcher himself, had a copy of Bond's guide and he later explained to the ornithologist's wife that "It struck me that this brief, unromantic, Anglo-Saxon and yet very masculine name was just what I needed, and so a second James Bond was born".

Fleming said: "I wanted the simplest, dullest, plainest-sounding name I could find, 'James Bond' was the dullest name I ever heard and much better than something more interesting, like 'Peregrine Carruthers'. Exotic things would happen to and around him, but he would be a neutral figure—an anonymous, blunt instrument wielded by a government department."

Well, Mr Fleming, James Bond is NOT the dullest name anymore :p After 23 films over 50 years, James Bond is now the most well known name for a secret agent / super spy ever and that in itself is rather funny since a secret agent is supposed to remain secret.

In 2006, Daniel Craig was given the role of Bond for Casino Royale, which rebooted the franchise. The twenty-third Eon produced film, Skyfall, was released on 26 October 2012. The series has grossed just over $6 billion to date, making it the second-highest-grossing film series (behind Harry Potter), and the single most successful adjusted for inflation.

So here's a look at the DID 1/6 scale British Military Intelligence Section 6 (MI6) Agent "Jack" 12-inch figure which will come with black tuxedo suit and a Walther PPK, the most famous of Bond's handguns

Close-up pictures of the 1/6 scale DID Agent "Jack" head sculpt that bears much resemblance to the actor Daniel Craig who has taken up the James Bond role for the last three films

The nice people (thanks, Elise) at HalloweenCostumes.com shared with me this infographic they created in anticipation of the release of Iron Man 3 movie in U.S. cinemas / theaters this weekend. All credit to the artist Kate Willaert for this beautiful piece of artwork! It’s a visualization of the most seen / used Iron Man armor suits. There have only been three Iron Man films on the big screen so far but Iron Man has been around in Marvel comics since 1963!

Trying to find the perfect outfit to wear is always difficult. Perhaps this question can be put to multi-billionaire Tony Stark. "What would Tony Stark wear?" Well, turns out he can't make up his mind either! In fact, since Iron Man's first appearance over 50 years ago there have been more than 20 incarnations of his armor! Below are his most storied looks (significant Iron Man armor suits) in order of appearance. Click on the picture for a bigger and better view :)

Alternatively, I've done a breakdown as well for easy viewing ;p

Equal parts practical and fashionable, Tony Stark never seems to be satisfied with the look of his "superhero costume". Since Iron Man's first appearance 50 years ago, the comic book character has accumulated a veritable armory of alternate armor designs. Below is a gallery illustrating the evolution of his core armor – not including special one-off armors – revealing a visual timeline of how Iron Man's look has changed over the decades.

May the Fourth be with you: Review Sideshow Collectibles Star Wars 1/6 Snowtrooper 12" figure

May 4 is considered a holiday by Star Wars fans to celebrate Star Wars culture and honor the films. It is called Star Wars Day because of the popularity of a common pun spoken on this day. Since the phrase "May the Force be with you" is a famous quote often spoken in the Star Wars films, fans commonly say "May the fourth be with you" on this day. So I'm celebrating May 4 with a toy blog post on Star Wars :)

Snowtroopers, also known as cold assault stormtroopers, were Imperial stormtroopers trained to operate in arctic climates. Some snowtroopers were deployed under Death Squadron's Blizzard Force, as well as other arctic forces. The snowtroopers were the successors of the clone cold assault troopers and the Galactic Marines under Clone Commanders Keller and Bacara, respectively, during the Clone Wars.

One of the first missions involving the snowtroopers was the surprise Imperial assault on the Rebel founders on Corellia. Darth Vader had tracked his Sith apprentice Galen Marek to the planet, in a secret plot to both capture the would-be founders of the rebellion and destroy Marek. Snowtroopers stormed the shelter atop the snowy mountain, quickly wiping out Rahm Kota's guards. Snowtroopers were utilized on many different icy worlds, including the Imperial garrison on the planet Akuria II. Their most notable conquest was at the Battle of Hoth, where the Imperial Blizzard Force defeated the forces of the Alliance to Restore the Republic and overran Echo Base. (source: wookiepedia)

This is the recently released Sideshow Collectibles Militaries of Star Wars Sixth Scale figure collection, the Snowtrooper. Outfitted to withstand the arctic climate of Hoth, the Snowtrooper Sixth Scale figure features detailed armor, accessories, and weaponry.

The Sideshow Collectibles Star Wars 1/6 scale Snowtrooper 12-inch figure comes in a tray with Survival backpack, Thermal detonator, Heavy cold weather gloves (extra four pieces for multiple poses), E-11 Carbine blaster and Snow covered display base packed separately.

Here's a closer look at the Survival backpack and Thermal detonator

Close-up view of the E-11 Carbine blaster with stock extended. The E-11 blaster rifle props used in ANH (A New Hope) and ESB (Empire Strikes Back) were built from a British-made Sterling L2A3 sub-machine gun.

Snow covered display base and Heavy cold weather gloves (extra four pieces for multiple poses)

The figure display base / stand with the snow base easily removed

The Snowtrooper Sixth Scale Figure features: Fully Articulated Prometheus 1.1 body with Cold weather assault gear including: Helmet, Face shield, Armored body shell, Survival backpack, Arm guards, shoulder pauldrons, knee guards and elbow guards, Heavy cold weather boots, Heavy cold weather gloves (multiple poses), Insulated thermal body suit, Thermal detonator, E-11 Carbine blaster and Snow covered display base

Snowtrooper armor was well suited to the climate extremes of frozen worlds such as Hoth, Rhen Var, and Toola. Unlike other troopers, snowtroopers wore a white, rugged body glove, which provided camouflage, and provided thermal insulation from the cold. Over this was an eighteen-piece outer shell altered to include more powerful heating and personal environment units, and an airtight fabric oversuit for additional protection from the cold.

To facilitate breathing in extremely cold or dangerous atmospheres, a breather hood enveloped the snowtrooper's faceplate and fed into the suit liner. Each trooper was equipped with terrain-grip boots, a standard utility belt containing high-tension wire, grappling hooks, ion flares, additional blaster ammunition, a survival kit, and ration packs.

The troopers' backpacks housed the main heating unit, main power cell, communications unit, and a homing beacon. The pack also had the ability to work as a power source for other equipment. Snowtroopers could survive up to two weeks in even the harshest frozen environments on their internal suit power and supplies.

They also wore white heated pants with pockets.

Snowtroopers were armed with the standard issued E-11 blaster rifles of stormtroopers, SE-14r light repeating blasters, two concussion grenades, and one fragmentation grenade. Elite snowtroopers were given the DLT-20A blaster rifle as a replacement for the E-11, and two stun grenades. Snowtroopers commonly employed E-Web heavy repeating blasters.

The chest plate worn by the snowtroopers was constructed of a plastoid composite armor. Near the center were all of the controls for the completely self-sufficient troopers' life support systems. These included an external temperature monitor, power cell monitor, and the controls for the suit's heater.

3A & Marvel The Invincible Iron Man teaser

Even Tony Stark would be impressed with Iron Man 3‘s incredible domestic opening weekend. Disney’s $200 million superhero sequel earned $175.3 million in its first three days in North America from 4,253 theaters — the second best opening weekend of all time behind The Avengers‘ $207.4 million bow on this weekend a year ago. The film managed a robust $41,218 per theater average and got a big boost from IMAX screens, which accounted for $16.5 million of its opening weekend gross. About 45 percent of tickets sold were in the 3D format. (source: insidemovies.ew.com)

Like The Avengers, Iron Man 3 played to a broad spectrum of demographics with a tilt toward older men. According to Disney, audiences were 55 percent above the age of 25 and 61 percent male. Disney also reports that couples made up 52 percent of viewers, while families accounted for 27 percent, and teens 21 percent.

Iron Man 3 opened higher than both Iron Man ($98.6 million) and Iron Man 2 ($128.1 million), which isn’t all that surprising given that it’s arriving after The Avengers, which earned $623.4 million domestically and became the biggest hit of 2012. It’s difficult to imagine that Iron Man 3 could have garnered such impressive numbers without the boon of The Avengers — especially because Iron Man 2 was tepidly received by most viewers and ultimately finished with less than Iron Man ($312.4 million vs. $318.4 million). It’s to Marvel’s credit that they were able to augment interest in the Iron Man franchise with The Avengers.

From 3A: We are very excited to present our first Marvel collaboration prototype (still work in progress) teaser of The Invincible Iron Man

Looks like everybody wants IN on the Iron Man franchise ;p

Review Brothers Production Presents 1/6th scale Final Mission 12-inch figure - Tom Cruise as IMF Agent Ethan Hunt in MI4: Ghost Protocol

$

Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol (also known as Mission: Impossible IV, or Mission: Impossible IV – Ghost Protocol) is a 2011 American action film, the fourth film in the Mission: Impossible series and stars Tom Cruise, who reprises his role of IMF Agent Ethan Hunt, and is director Brad Bird's first live-action film. Upon release, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol became a critical and commercial success, becoming the highest-grossing Mission: Impossible film, and the highest-grossing film starring Tom Cruise.

"Ghost Protocol" is a black operation contingency that disavows the IMF (Impossible Missions Force, fictional independent espionage agency). In so doing, Ethan and his team are to take the blame for the attack / bombing of the Kremlin, but will be allowed to escape from government custody in order to track down "Cobalt" the antagonist / villain.

This is the recently released Brothers Production Presents 1/6th scale Final Mission 12-inch figure which is most likely inspired by Tom Cruise as IMF Agent Ethan Hunt as seen in the 2011 film Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol. The picture above is an attempt to replicate the shot used for the promotional posters for the film where Ethan (Tom Cruise) has his face obscured under a hood to stay hidden since there's an international manhunt out for him. Scroll down to see more pictures :)

The box packaging, as with all of Brothers Production's box packages, is nothing to write home about. Just a plain black elongated box with a sticker stuck on it. The picture below shows the basic figure found inside the box the moment you open it.

Brothers Production 1/6 scale Custom Hand Made FINAL MISSION figure is based on Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt in Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol. The basic figure comes dressed in black tee, leather-like black jacket with hood, brown pants and shoes / boots

This newer 12-inch figure body seems much better than the previously released ones which had pretty weak joints.

Check out the Brothers Production Presents Final Mission 12-inch figure 1/6th scale head sculpt

Does it resemble Tom Cruise? I think the likeness is quite good

And here's how the figure looks with the hood up

The black leather jacket is quite nicely done and fits the figure well

Other 1/6 scale accessories and items included with this Brothers Production Presents 1/6th scale Final Mission 12-inch figure: Black vest, climbing pants, special climbing gloves like the ones used in the film, socks and climbing shoes

Also included: alternate 1/6 scale head sculpt, black belt with buckle, wind goggles, gloves, laser glass cutter with pouch, walkie-talkie radio with pouch, utility pouch

The alternate Brothers Production Presents Final Mission 12-inch figure 1/6 scale head sculpt has the "hair swept back" look with eyes slightly looking to the side. Is it Tom Cruise? I can't imagine it being anyone else

NEXT: 1/6 scale Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt in his climbing attire about to scale the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. Burj Khalifa (Arabic: برج خليفة‎, "Khalifa tower"), known as Burj Dubai prior to its inauguration, is a skyscraper in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and is the tallest man-made structure in the world, at 829.8 m (2,722 ft).
