The Special Duties Unit (Abbreviation: SDU; Chinese: 特別任務連, nicknamed Flying Tigers 飛虎隊) is an elite paramilitary tactical unit of the Hong Kong Police Force. Established in July 1974, it is a sub-division of the Police Tactical Unit (PTU). Its primary functions include counter-terrorism, hostage rescue and dealing with crimes (usually involving firearms) which are considered too dangerous for regular police to handle. The unit was formerly trained by the British SAS before the handover of Hong Kong to China.

Ghost Rider is the name of several fictional supernatural antiheroes appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Marvel had previously used the name for a Western character whose name was later changed to Phantom Rider. The first supernatural Ghost Rider is stunt motorcyclist Johnny Blaze, who, in order to save the life of his father, agreed to give his soul to "Satan" (later revealed to be an arch-demon named Mephisto). At night and when around evil, Blaze finds his flesh consumed by hellfire, causing his head to become a flaming skull. He rides a fiery motorcycle and wields trademark blasts of hellfire from his skeletal hands. Nicolas Cage starred as Johnny Blaze in the 2007 film Ghost Rider and the sequel Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance in 2012.

Backstory:
At the dawn of modern civilization, where Caesars ruled and warriors of legend were making their paths, a forgotten tribe is decimated by raiders spurred on behind the scenes by corrupt leaders. A man covered with the ashes of his comrades stands tall. He mutters the tribe's creed: "Gothe Heam Stundes" which means "Justice comes for you".

Bards being to sing tales of a fearsome warrior striking bands of thieves down and protecting nomadic families from ill fates. Intimidating to his enemies yet with an air of respect for those who deserve it. The Dark Knight had arrived.

This is the recently released Square Enix Play Arts Kai 1/7th scale DC Comics Variant "Batman: Timeless - Sparta" 10.5-inch tall action figure. The premise is that there will always be a Batman in any timeline in alternate universes and so this particular Batman existed in the same period as the Spartans of old. Spartan Batman comes with a shield with a Bat symbol on it, a spear, five additional interchangeable hands, four daggers, a long sword and a figure stand. In the first part action figure review posted on my toy blog earlier HERE, I covered the box contents and shared close-up shots of this figure with all the nice intricate details. Here in this second-part review are more pictures of this awesome action figure because one post is just not enough to contain all this coolness!

Speedy is the name of two DC Comics superheroes, fictional characters that have each served as teenaged sidekicks for the Green Arrow (a.k.a. Oliver Queen). The original Speedy's real name was Roy Harper, Jr. In The CW's Arrow TV series, Roy Harper's role as Green Arrow's sidekick is taken over by Oliver Queen's sister, Thea Dearden Queen (Willa Holland) who is nicknamed 'Speedy" by Oliver (Stephen Amell).

Carl Grimes is a main character, the deuteragonist, and a survivor of the outbreak in AMC's The Walking Dead. He is the son of Rick and Lori Grimes. The Batmobile was a classification given to certain models of Batman's fleet of road vehicles. While Batman himself most often referred to the vehicle simply as "The Car", Dick Grayson started calling it "The Batmobile" and the name stuck.

Friday the 13th is an American horror franchise that, as of 2016, comprises twelve slasher films, a television show, novels, comic books, and tie‑in merchandise. The franchise mainly focuses on the fictional character Jason Voorhees, who drowned as a boy at Camp Crystal Lake due to the negligence of the camp staff. Decades later, the lake is rumored to be "cursed" and is the setting for a series of mass murders. Jason is featured in all of the films, as either the killer or the motivation for the killings.

Although the films were not popular with critics, Friday the 13th is considered one of the most successful media franchises in America - not only for the success of the films, but also because of the extensive merchandising and repeated references to the series in popular culture. The franchise's popularity has generated a fanbase who have created their own Friday the 13th films, fashioned replica Jason Voorhees costumes, and tattooed their bodies with Friday the 13th artwork. Jason's hockey mask has even become one of the most recognizable images in popular culture.

Sideshow has released new images of their latest cult-classic horror movie collectible: a 1:6th scale action figure of Jason Voorhees as seen in Friday the 13th: Part III. The reveal gives us a look at the many weapons of teenage mass destruction the figure will come with, including his trademark bloody machete, an axe and, just in case one tries to get away, a speargun.

Recently the series took a totally unique turn, transforming two horror movie icons into pretty girls with Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger. Tim Burton’s classic 1990 dark fantasy introduced the world to Edward (played magnificently by Johnny Depp), a gentle automaton with unfinished scissor hands created by a mad scientist. Now that character’s iconic appendages, color scheme, and style have been interpreted by Kotobukiya based on an original illustration by Shunya Yamashita that brings Edward to life as never before.

The beautiful female version stands with all the awkwardness of the film character, her feet apart and knees spread, head cocked to one side, and scissor hands held up in front of her. “Edward” wears a fantastically detailed black gothic-style outfit with tall boots, stockings, a short dress with shredded skirt, long gloves, and a choker at her neck. The darkness of her clothing is offset by striking gold buckles and studs, and of course the silver blades of her scissors. Meanwhile, under her tousled black hair this unique creature silently ponders the world with a cute expression on her Bishoujo-styled face.

While the earlier released Bandai Star Wars Movie Realization 7-inch tall Ashigaru Stormtrooper action figure came with a Tanegashima (Japanese matchlock) that resembled the E-11 blaster rifles carried by Stormtroopers, the Teppo Ashigaru Sandtrooper action figure comes with a longer rifle which looks to be inspired by the DLT-19 heavy blaster rifle in the films. The DLT-19 was not as popular or as well-known as the standard-issue E-11 blaster rifle, because it took longer to assemble and load. However the DLT-19 was much more powerful and had a much greater range than the E-11 model.

In the Star Wars films, all desert sandtroopers carried E-11 blaster rifles, DLT-19 heavy blaster rifles, T-21 light repeating blasters, or RT-97C heavy blaster rifles, long-range comlinks, food, and water packs. Sandtroopers wore colored pauldrons as a designation of rank. A sandtrooper sergeant's pauldron was white, while an enlisted trooper's pauldron was all black. Squad leaders, who led units of seven troopers, wore orange shoulder pauldrons.

Since these are re-imagined Sandtroopers re-designed to fit the feudal Japan period, their array of weapons are slightly different. One thing that is consistent is the sword they carry because that was the main weapon used during that period of time.

This Bandai Tamashii Exclusive Movie Realization 7-inch (18 cm) tall Teppo Ashigaru Sandtrooper action figure also comes with a humongous rifle and makes him look really comical when he carries it. It looks like a hand-held cannon. I think it's supposed to represent the T-21 light repeating blaster. The T-21 was the heaviest and one of the most powerful standard-issue weapons that could be carried by a single soldier. The sheer power of its bolts could cut through personal armor and break down personal energy shields, even penetrate the armored plating on many light combat vehicles.

The 6 of spades, Ada, is Dam Toys first 12-inch female action figure and part of their Gangsters Kingdom 1/6th scale series. You can read all about her backstory posted on my toy blog sometime back HERE. While I didn't get this figure, my good friend Ted Menten did. Ted has been a guest reviewer on this blog many times already, having covered some of the figures that I didn't pre-order or purchase, such as the CmToys 1/6th scale 12-inch Figure Body (posted HERE), ThreeA Lost Planet 2 1/6th scale Mercenary 12-inch Action Figure (reviewed HERE), ACG Toys ATF-002 1/6 scale 'Young & Dangerous' Teddy Boy (Chan Ho Nam) 12-inch figure (covered HERE) and Kaustic Plastik 1/6 scale XXL Project Set 1 - The Fantasy Warrior head and outfit set (posted HERE).

Once again, Ted has so generously offered to share with all of us his take of the DAM TOYS Gangsters Kingdom 1/6th scale Spade 6 ADA 12-inch female action figure with pictures and short descriptions so that we all can get to know Ada better. What else can I say except "THANK YOU, Ted"! This is very much appreciated :)

This is my first Gangsters Kingdom figure. It has a lot interesting details. The head and face is exactly like the preview images. The hair is rooted and is cut in a boyish style. The upper torso is soft (rubber) and there is a tattoo on her chest and stomach. Hands are very detailed and include rings on the fingers. She has removable fingerless (mitts) gloves with a design on the top side.

These are images of the ADA packaging, The front "cover" is heavy cardboard -- front and two sides held in place with magnets. The back of the cover is a "background" for the figure.

Second "cover" is standard weight cardboard with the story and removable playing card. Next under that is the comic book. There is a "story" card as well as a comic book that depicts her in action.

Then a thin foam layer with covers and protects the figure tray.

Under the figure tray is the accessory tray.

The figure easily holds a pose without support. Leather coat has a lot of stitching detail and is trimmed in faux fur. The front detailing and closure actually resemble a bustier or corset. She has a print bra underneath. Tight leather pants and high heel boots complete the outfit. She has a sword and two guns. She also has a silver cross on a chain and sunglasses. She carries a black plastic coffin shaped backpack that can hold her weapons.

Having reviewed the Bandai Tamashii Exclusive Movie Realization 7-inch (18 cm) tall Teppo Ashigaru Sandtrooper action figure, let's see how he looks next to the earlier released Bandai Star Wars Movie Realization 7-inch tall Ashigaru Stormtrooper action figure.

Just like in the Star Wars films where the Sandtroopers were more weathered and dirtied compared to the Stormtroopers, the Bandai Tamashii Teppo Ashigaru Sandtrooper action figure is also less white and more yellow in appearance compared to the Ashigaru Stormtrooper. The Sandtrooper also has a orange shoulder pauldron (designation for squad leader) and additional pouches on his left shoulder.

The Bandai Tamashii Movie Realization Teppo Ashigaru Sandtrooper action figure's backpack is fashioned after the typical SD-48 survival backpacks worn by the Sandtroopers in the Star Wars films.

Here's the Bandai Tamashii Star Wars Movie Realization Samurai Taisho Darth Vader 18 cm tall action figure being flanked by the Stormtrooper on his right and Sandtrooper on his left.
