ThreeA (3A) 1/6 scale Tomorrow Kings SHOGUN Gorei 12-inch awesome action figure REVIEW II

continued from earlier post...

"They say... There were only ten that ever walked with us, that each could hold an army at bay single handed. They say we will never see their kind again and each of the ten shelter silent wisdom cast from a memory of the end. These are the SHOGUN TK." ...from ThreeA

This is the recently released ThreeA (3A) 1/6 scale Tomorrow Kings SHOGUN Gorei 12-inch figure. There are also the 3A Tomorrow Kings SHOGUN Tsuki and Tomorrow Kings SHOGUN Seven Bones released as well. According to 3A, Tomorrow Kings are male clones, from the Popbot Universe who were created by Luthor Bean Jr. originally used for corporate takeovers. These "Elvis ronin" were created to slay all monsters & ghouls with Luthor Bean Sr.'s Ion Engine that escaped Earth. They are also used to fight the Mortis. I just love Ashley Wood's take on the subject and his stunning art on this series as well as other 3A product lines.

In my earlier post HERE, I showed pictures of 3A TK Shogun Gorei without his helmet and he looked all calm and serene, and monk-like because of his shaved head and orange garb (top). But here with his helmet on and wielding his HUGE sword, he looks just so bada$$ and cool. I just love the segmented armor he has on his left arm, how they overlap and form. Scroll down to see more pictures.

Enjoy the turnaround views of this awesome 12-inch figure that is ThreeA (3A) 1/6 scale Tomorrow Kings SHOGUN Gorei. I just love the whole look and feel of this post-apocalyptic Samurai warrior figure :)

Enjoy the pictures of TK Shogun Gorei from ThreeA

Besides his helmet, armor and sword, TK Shogun Gorei has multiple pouches (which are actually military pouches for rifle magazines) as well as utility and general pouches. The mishmash just works so well for the post-apocalyptic look.

The sheath secured on his back is for his long sword which has wires coming out from the hilt

The wires are connected to a battery pack stored on one of his pouches. The 1/6 scale battery pack was shown in my earlier post HERE

Close-up views and pictures / images of ThreeA (3A) 1/6 scale Tomorrow Kings SHOGUN Gorei 12-inch action figure - just jaw dropping awesomeness :)

Kaustic Plastik has been putting out some GREAT stuff and they are continuing to do so :) This is their latest preview product and it's a 1/6 scale museum quality Roman Centurion Artorius Lucius Castus - Legio II Adiutrix, Circa 178-179 A.D. - Marcomannic Wars - Leugaricio - Slovakia.

Highlights and product features include: New 1/6 scale head sculpt, Helm Imperial Italic Type D with Magnetic Plug (Die Cast), 2 Different Face Protections, Sword - Gladio (Die Cast), Dagger - Pugio (Die Cast), Armour - Lorica Hamata - Chain Armour, Phalerae Harness (Leather), 14 Different Dona (Military Decorations) for total customization! (Die Cast), Torques - Military Decorations - (Die Cast), Pteruges - Leather vest (Leather), Ocrae - Leg armour (Die Cast), Vitis - Command Staff, Red Cape (Die Cast), Closed Boots - Calcei (Leather), Trousers - Bracae (Cloth), Red Tunic (Cloth), Red Scarf - Focale (Cloth), Armored Belt - Cingulum Militare (Leather + Details in Brass).

Lucius Artorius Castus (mid-late 2nd century AD or early-to-mid 3rd century AD) was a Roman military commander. A member of the gens Artoria (possibly of Messapic or Etruscan origin), he has been suggested as a potential historical basis for King Arthur. What is known of Artorius comes from inscriptions on fragments of a sarcophagus, and a memorial plaque, found in Podstrana, on the Dalmatian coast in Croatia. Although the inscriptions cannot be precisely dated, Lucius Artorius Castus probably served in the Roman army sometime between the mid-late 2nd century AD or early-to-mid 3rd century AD. [source: wiki]

I'm blown away by these preview / prototype pictures. It's looking very good indeed :)

The attention to detail is simply amazing and the finished work looks stunning. Certainly museum quality replica (limited to 700 pieces worldwide)

This is such a beautiful piece :)

These are the latest pictures Daniel Picard has shared with me :) As the saying goes "A picture tells a thousand words" so I'll just let the pictures do the talking. ENJOY

The pictures are much bigger than they seem (especially the landscape ones below - scroll down to see the rest) but due to limitations of blogger, they can only be viewed in a smaller size. Click on each picture for a bigger and better view. You can really appreciate the art more!

The picture above is just awesome! The Bat-pod doesn't run on nuclear power so Batman has to pump it with petrol when the tank runs dry right? Looks like he prefers Esso fuel haha I would've thought he'll choose BP for his Bat-Pod ;p

The last two pictures are Dan's new experiment of adding human actors into the mix. He just makes all the pictures look 1:1 scale to me

You can check out Daniel Picard's website www.danielpicard.com for more pictures :) He doesn't just shoot toys. Daniel Picard takes very nice pictures of people, places and things as well. Go to his facebook page and like it as well.

Review I: Hot Toys G.I. Joe Retaliation: 1/6th scale Snake Eyes 12-inch Collectible Figure

$

IMHO This is by far the BEST 1/6 scale G.I. Joe Snake Eyes 12-inch figure EVER released! I just love the whole look and getup which of course is based on the latest incarnation of Snake Eyes as seen in the "G.I. Joe Retaliation" film released earlier this year (March 2013). A great design gets an equally great treatment by Hot Toys, proving once again that they are very good at what they do. Just wish they would stop raising their prices and charging so much for them.

Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece Series MMS192 G.I. Joe Retaliation: 1/6th scale Snake Eyes Collectible Figure specially features: Authentic and detailed fully realized likeness of Snake Eyes in his black “military ninja” bodysuit as seen in the movie; Is Approximately 30 cm tall; has TrueType body with over 30 points of articulations; Five (5) pairs of interchangeable gloved palms including: One (1) pair of fists, One (1) pair of palms for holding gun, One (1) pair of palms for holding swords, Two (2) pairs of relaxed palms

Snake Eyes' costume in the first movie "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" was a bit of a letdown. Snake Eyes wore something that looked like a full body rubber suit as his costume / outfit with pants over it and not much else. It looked like someone spray painted Ray Park's body with black paint and called it a costume. What's worse? He didn't have a mask on because you can actually see his face and lips. The only saving factor was the signature visor over his eyes which distinguishes him as Snake Eyes. You can check out the Hasbro 1/6 scale G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra 12-inch Snake Eyes (Ninja Commando) figure HERE

So I'm kind of glad that Hot Toys didn't get the license to make any of the characters from the first G.I. Joe movie (especially Snake Eyes) and ended up with the movie license for the second G.I. Joe film instead. Scroll down to see the pictures of an awesome figure that is Hot Toys G.I. Joe Retaliation: 1/6th scale Snake Eyes 12-inch Collectible Figure.

The product packaging is the standard now for all Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece Series (MMS) products. There's the slipcase cover (shown above) which when removed shows the figure in a window display style box packaging. The picture below is taken of the back of the box.

Here's Hot Toys G.I. Joe Retaliation: 1/6th scale Snake Eyes 12-inch Collectible Figure as he is seen in the box with all his weapons and accessories laid out around the figure, including all the extra hands. In this instance, there is no instruction sheet unlike the last two Hot Toys figure reviews of Black Widow HERE and Phil Coulson HERE

Check out Hot Toys G.I. Joe Retaliation: Snake Eyes 1/6 ninja figure straight out of the box without his weapons and accessories. Now this looks so much like Snake Eyes. From head to toe, he just looks the part of a "military-style ninja"with the armor over his chest, shoulder and arms plus military tactical pants, boots and pouches at the back.

Snake Eyes gets a makeover for the second G.I. Joe movie (G.I. Joe Retaliation) and it's all GOOD.

The mask and visor which is the essential part of Snake Eyes look is made perfect here and together with the new and revamped costume, he just looks totally like Snake Eyes now

Here's a look at the back of Snake Eyes with his sword sheath securely fastened on his back plus his pouches and small knife.

Scroll down to see more turnaround views and pictures of Hot Toys G.I. Joe Retaliation: 1/6th scale Snake Eyes 12-inch Collectible Figure

Snake Eyes always looked pretty cool in almost every incarnation. However the overly bulky and muscular suit that was featured in the G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra costume design just lacked that finesse or stealthy build that a ninja-commando should have.

I also didn't fancy Sideshow Collectibles G.I. Joe 1/6 scale Snake Eyes figures (both versions) and never picked them up out of sheer disappointment. There's no mistaking the beauty of this Snake Eyes design / rendition.

Snake Eyes proudly wears the Arashikage Clan symbol on his right shoulder. Arashikage is a fictional ninja clan from the military-themed G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero series of comics, television shows, and action figures. The name is derived from the Japanese words for storm (嵐 arashi) and shadow (影 kage). It is central to the back-story of several prominent characters, including Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow.

The rest of the pictures that follow are close-up shots / images of Hot Toys G.I. Joe Retaliation: 1/6th scale Snake Eyes 12-inch Ninja Commando Collectible Figure as well as his accessories and weapons

Somebody put it best when he said "putting lips on Snake Eyes (as seen in the first G.I. Joe movie) is like this decade's version of giving the Batman suit nipples". This new mask design with the sleek visor incorporated really makes Snake Eyes look his best.

Check out the awesome details and finishing that is found on Hot Toys G.I. Joe Retaliation: 1/6th scale Snake Eyes 12-inch Collectible Figure. This figure for me is the BEST figure of 2013 so far!

Close-up of Snake Eyes sword sheath and pouches on his back. There's another sheath for his throwing knife / dagger, bigger pouch for rifle magazine and smaller pistol magazine pouch.

Snake Eyes has a left-hand pistol holster for the FN FNX-9 pistol. I guess he's better at wielding his sword with his right hand and firing the pistol or other firearms with his left hand.

Close-up of Hot Toys G.I. Joe Retaliation: 1/6th scale Snake Eyes 12-inch Collectible Figure front and center. There's another sheath for his other throwing knife / dagger on his right side.

Hot Toys Snake Eyes 1/6 scale accessories include: Figure stand with Snake Eyes nameplate and the movie logo, Two (2) Japanese-styled metal swords, Two (2) daggers, One (1) submachine gun with removable magazine, One (1) pistol with removable magazine

Snake Eyes (Ray Park) can be seen using a suppressed Heckler & Koch MP7A1 submachine gun to shoot down incoming shuriken. Snake Eyes is also seen firing dual MP7A1s in promotional images for the film. The FN FNX-9 pistol is used by both Cobra ninjas and Cobra Vipers. Snakes Eyes (Ray Park) and Jinx (Elodie Yung) both take one after they secure Storm Shadow (Byung-hun Lee) in the Himilayas.

Close-up shots of the two (2) Japanese-styled metal swords and two (2) daggers

Hot Toys Snake Eyes comes with Five (5) pairs of interchangeable gloved palms including: One (1) pair of fists (which comes with the figure), One (1) pair of palms for holding gun, One (1) pair of palms for holding swords, Two (2) pairs of relaxed palms

Preview Hot Toys Iron Man 3 1/6 Heartbreaker (Mark XVII) Limited Edition Collectible Figure

From Hot Toys:
Tony Stark has built a number of new suits in Iron Man 3. Aldrich Killian and his Extremis soldiers proved to be a formidable force and Tony has to initiate the “House Party Protocol” to confront them.

We are excited to present one of the brand new armors from Tony Stark’s “House Party Protocol” – 1/6th scale Heartbreaker (Mark XVII) Limited Edition Collectible Figurine, the Artillery Level RT Suit. It features red and gold-colored armor, and LED light-up functions.

Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece Series (NOT die-cast) MMS212 Iron Man 3 1/6 scale Heartbreaker (Mark XVII) Limited Edition Collectible Figure features: Authentic likeness of Heartbreaker (Mark XVII), the Artillery Level RT Suit, in the Iron Man 3 movie. Approximately 30 cm tall with Over 36 points of articulations. Special features on armor: Red and gold-colored painting on armor, LED-lighted eyes and circle-shaped RT on chest (white light, battery operated). Three (3) pairs of interchangeable palms including: One (1) pair with improved articulations, movable fingers and light-up repulsors (white light, battery operated), One (1) pair of forceful fists, One (1) pair of repulsor palms. Improved articulations on waist armor which allow flexible movement

I think that it's good that it's not die-cast as it doesn't jack up the costs. Furthermore, with die-cast metal parts, there's always the concern of the paint chipping off. A figure made of plastic which cost less (including shipping costs) can be painted to look metallic as Hot Toys has shown us in the past. Let's not get overboard or all hyped up with metallic die-cast figures (especially the Super Alloy ones) because it only means we have to pay more money for less figures. I would rather have more figures to enjoy than have to pick and choose which ones to buy just because they are made of die-cast material but in the end, look just the same when displayed.

Accessory: One (1) circular figure stage with transparent pillar

**Prototype shown, final product may be slightly different
**Battery included for collectible figure. Button cells are required

The Wolverine movie starring Hugh Jackman as Wolverine is coming out and it has been almost 40 years since Wolverine first appeared in the Marvel comics. HalloweenCostumes.com has produced this visual guide to the evolution of Wolverine's celebrated costume! I love infographics and even more so when it's about something I can relate to. Halloween Costumes had previously produced a Hall of Armor: The Evolution of Iron Man Info-graphic which I had posted on my toy blog HERE

This guy has answered to many names over the years, so it is only fitting that he has a similarly high number of costume incarnations, right? (Seriously though: Weapon X, Patch, James Howlett, Logan, Death...the list goes on!) Hot Toys 1/6th scale G.I. Joe Retaliation: Snake Eyes 12-inch Ninja Collectible Figure Review II

continued from earlier post...

I am just loving this recently released Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece Series MMS192 G.I. Joe Retaliation: 1/6th scale Snake Eyes Collectible Figure and dare declare that this has to be the BEST Snake Eyes 12-inch ninja figure ever released :) I had earlier covered the box packaging and contents HERE so now I want to show Snake Eyes fully equipped with his weapons - Two (2) Japanese-styled metal swords, Two (2) daggers, One (1) submachine gun with removable magazine, One (1) pistol with removable magazine.

Snake Eyes history wasn't fully covered in the films released. We know he grew up with Storm Shadow under the tutelage of the Arashikage Clan but we are never told why he has to wear the full mask over his face. In the first movie "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra", Snake Eyes had lips - see the pictures HERE. I just cannot get over that! The overly bulky and muscular suit that was featured in the G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra costume design just lacked that finesse or stealthy build that a ninja-commando should have. This latest version is much much better. Scroll down to see more :)

In these pictures, Hot Toys 1/6 scale G.I. Joe Retaliation: Snake Eyes has his ninja sword in one hand and suppressed Heckler & Koch MP7A1 submachine gun in the other.

Snake Eyes (Ray Park) can be seen using a suppressed Heckler & Koch MP7A1 submachine gun to shoot down incoming shuriken. Snake Eyes is also seen firing dual MP7A1s in promotional images for the film.

Snake Eyes has the FN FNX-9 pistol stored in the left-hand holster secured on his left hip.

The FN FNX-9 pistol is used by both Cobra ninjas and Cobra Vipers. Snakes Eyes (Ray Park) and Jinx (Elodie Yung) both take one after they secure Storm Shadow (Byung-hun Lee) in the Himilayas.

Snake Eyes' other sword is safely stored in the sheath on his back. He also has a dagger secured on his back as well, along with some military style pouches

Snake Eyes has another dagger kept in a sheath on his right side

Snake Eyes proudly wears the Arashikage Clan symbol on his right shoulder.

Both Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow are full-fledged ninja masters trained by the Arashikage Clan, a fictional ninja clan from the military-themed G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero series of comics, television shows, and action figures.

Snake Eyes is quiet in his movements and is a swift and deadly master of multiple martial arts. He is an expert in the use of a Japanese sword and spike-knuckled trench knives, but is equally qualified with and willing to use firearms and explosives. He is also the team's resident hand to hand combat instructor. Making him even more dangerous is that he rarely relies on one set of weapons to the exclusion of others.

In the comics, Snake Eyes usually wears what could perhaps best be described as a black "military ninja" bodysuit, along with a balaclava and visor to cover his face, which was disfigured in a helicopter explosion. Since then, Snake Eyes has had extensive plastic surgery to repair the damage to his face; he still has a few scars left, but his vocal cords cannot be repaired.

I think this interpretation of Snake Eyes is the best by far. I love the overall design from the sleekness of his mask and visor to the armor on his upper body and how it is integrated with his body suit, ending with the military style black tactical pants with cargo pockets and cool looking boots

Check out the close-up pictures / images below which shows off the details of Snake Eyes costume / outfit best.

Close-up view of the suppressed Heckler & Koch MP7A1 submachine gun

Close-up image of the FN FNX-9 pistol in holster. See my post HERE for the full close-up view of the FN FNX-9 pistol

Picture of Snake Eyes boots

The pictures below show how the different materials (fabric and plastic) integrate together to give Snake Eyes the ultra cool look. This is only possible with 1/6 scale figures as you cannot replicate this for action figures smaller size than 12-inch. This is the reason why I love 1/6 figures so much :)

Can you figure out how many layers Snake Eyes has on his costume? And yet the layers don't cause the figure to look bulky or heavy.

Besides the dagger on his back, G.I. Joe Retaliation: Snake Eyes has one more on his right side

Nice side view of Snake Eyes showing off the slender body and cool armor

Snake Eyes' mask is not just a simple hood but it looks more like a helmet here with the sleek lines and cool design which extends downwards to his armor as well

I would certainly highly recommend you get this Hot Toys 1/6th scale G.I. Joe Retaliation: Snake Eyes 12-inch Ninja Collectible Figure if you haven't... but only if you are a Snake Eyes fan like me :)

Counting the cost of being Batman, Hulk, Spider-Man, Superman and Wolverine - Then & Now

$
0
0
Mashable has compiled and designed some very beautiful infographics of "How Much Does It Cost to Be a SuperHero (Batman, Hulk, Spider-Man, Superman and Wolverine) in Real Life?" and I just had to share them here :) Mashable has compared the costs of being a Superhero at the time of conception and how much it would cost to be a present day Superhero. (source: Mashable) Click on the pictures for a bigger and better view.

More than 50 years ago, Stan Lee and Steve Ditko caught the attention of Marvel fans with the tale of Spider-Man in an issue of "Amazing Fantasy." The humble one-man-show, unique from other superheroes who required sidekicks or bands, won Spidey his own series.

From the comic book hero to the blockbuster success, Spider-Man continues to be a favorite (and if you're unlucky enough to suffer a spider bite, at least you can console yourself that you too might discover hidden strength, thanks to Peter Parker's example). But would you ever really want to be Spider-Man? Let's see what that would cost — we look at the cost of being Mr. Parker back when we first met him and today, with all the technological innovations and inflation.

The innocents of Gotham City — and the comic book world in general — owe its allegiance to Batman. Created by artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger, Batman first appeared in DC Comics' issue #27 in 1939. His immediate popularity earned him his own eponymous series the next year, and his latest movie release in 2012, Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises, currently holds the fourth biggest opening weekend in box office history.

A notable superhero because of his distinct lack of superpowers, Batman takes out the bad guys of Gotham using no more than his physical prowess, indomitable willpower and quite a number of high-tech, self-invented gadgets. (Take away the Batsuit, the Batmobile and the Batarang, and Batman is just ... well, Bruce Wayne.)

But fighting crime in any decade isn't cheap, even for the billionaire owner of Wayne Enterprises. Check out the infographic and compare how much it cost to be Batman at his debut in 1939 and 2013, taking into consideration the technological advancements and inflation.

"The Incredible Hulk" issue #1, written by Stan Lee himself (and additionally co-plotted by Jack Kirby), debuted in 1962. Despite his on-and-off again comic book presence, this Avengers co-founder has proven himself to be a cultural icon. The Hulk was inspired by both Frankenstein and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde; Lee said he believed an imperfect character was always more compelling, much like The Hunchback of Notre Dame's misunderstood Quasimodo.

Thus, emotionally reserved Dr. Bruce Banner is a scientific prodigy — and his advanced technology, Bannertech, is considered on par with Stark Industries — yet as a child, he was abused by his violent genius father and witnessed the murder of his loving mother. Intense gamma radiation absorption during an experiment gone awry prompted Banner's bizarre transformation into the Hulk. His alter ego boasts limitless superhuman strength — the angrier he is, the stronger he becomes.

But it's stressful turning green. There are psychologists to visit, Ph.D. degrees to be had, and of course, new clothes to buy.

Kal-El. Clark Kent. The Man of Tomorrow. Whatever you call Superman, this humble Kansas farm boy has captured our hearts ever since we found him playing in the cornfield.

Our favorite Kryptonian and his unwavering moral compass have saved civilians and spared criminals' lives since high schoolers Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster dreamed him up in 1933. Five years later, a corporate predecessor of DC Comics published Superman in "Action Comics" issue #1. He received his own self-titled series the next year.

Since then, we've seen him mature from Lana Lang to Lois Lane; from Smallville to Metropolis; from leaping "tall buildings in a single bound" to hurtling through outer space. And with the release of Man of Steel earlier this year, it doesn't seem like we're growing tired of the world's most famous portmanteau — whether or not we interpret him as a Christ figure, a historical reflection of FDR's New Deal or an embodiment of the American Way.

This Daily Planet journalist and Justice League co-founder is the poster boy for "American cultural icon." His backstory has become common cultural knowledge — The Last Son of Krypton was sent to Earth by his parents. He discovers his herculean powers and ultimately uses them to protect and defend humanity from evil.

"It is a remarkable dichotomy," said Batman in "Superman/Batman #3", under writer Jeph Loeb. "In many ways, Clark is the most human of us all. Then ... he shoots fire from the skies, and it is difficult not to think of him as a god. And how fortunate we all are that it does not occur to him."

"I'm the best there is at what I do, but what I do best isn't very nice."

We know him best as a ruthless X-Men authority figure. He's brusque, irreverent and rebellious — but also a cunning leader who adheres to a code of personal honor. Brandishing his adamantium-laced claws, this classic anti-hero is the most popular X-Men character of all time. Wolverine, or Logan, first appeared in 1974 as Bruce Banner's enemy in "The Incredible Hulk," issue #180. Writer Len Wein specifically created him at the request of Marvel's editor-in-chief Roy Thomas, who wanted a fierce-tempered, Canadian Wolverine.

He eventually joined the "X-Men" comics, and his growing popularity led to his own four-issue series, "Wolverine," in 1982. He's continued to be a main character in most mutant adventures.

Born in the late 19th century, Wolverine suffers one of the most infamously dark and secretive personal histories of all comic book characters, which we've slowly unraveled over the years through numerous mini-series, story arcs and films. (The latest adaptation, James Mangold's The Wolverine, premieres later this month.)

He possesses superhumanly accurate senses, a mastery of the martial arts, a razor-sharp intellect and is resistant to telepathic assault — not to mention his near-indestructible adamantium skeleton and his powerful healing ability.

The heavy drinking and smoking doesn't help his loner reputation, but with all his assets, he doesn't need any assistance.

When we last saw junior assassin Hit Girl and young vigilante Kick-Ass, they were trying to live as normal teenagers Mindy and Dave. With graduation looming and uncertain what to do, Dave decides to start the world's first superhero team with Mindy. Unfortunately, when Mindy is busted for sneaking out as Hit Girl, she's forced to retire - leaving her to navigate the terrifying world of high-school mean girls on her own. With no one left to turn to, Dave joins forces with Justice Forever, run by a born-again ex-mobster named Colonel Stars and Stripes. Just as they start to make a real difference on the streets, the world's first super villain, The Mother F%&*^r, assembles his own evil league and puts a plan in motion to make Kick-Ass and Hit Girl pay for what they did to his dad.

After Kick-Ass' insane bravery inspires a new wave of self-made masked crusaders, led by the badass Colonel Stars and Stripes, our hero joins them on patrol. When these amateur superheroes are hunted down by Red Mist -- reborn as The Mother F%&*^r -- only the blade-wielding Hit Girl can prevent their annihilation. Written by Universal Pictures

This is Medicom Toys upcoming RAH (Real Action Heroes) KickAss2: 1/6 scale Chloë Grace Moretz as Mindy Macready / Hit Girl figure. The dimensions given for her height is 300mm or 12 inches. I wonder if that's to scale since Hit Girl is actually not very tall ;p Medicom Toys has made short female figures before: case in point - Anne Yuri from the Terrestrial Defense Force Ultra Guard (TDF UG) posted HERE. You can check out the height difference in my other post HERE :)

This figure looks really good from the pictures. Unfortunately Medicom Toys pricing and quality still scares me to this day :(

Mortal Kombat (commonly abbreviated "MK") is a series of fighting games created by Ed Boon and John Tobias. The first four renditions and their updates were developed by Midway Games and initially released on arcade machines, and later to home consoles. The development of the first game was originally based on idea of making a video game starring Jean-Claude Van Damme, but that idea fell through and Mortal Kombat was created instead and released in 1992.

Sub-Zero is a video game character from the Mortal Kombat series and one of the original characters in the first Mortal Kombat game in 1992. A mainstay of the series, the character has appeared in every Mortal Kombat fighting game and also appears in many other Mortal Kombat media works such as the Mortal Kombat live action film series and animated series.

According to Mortal Kombat co-creator John Tobias, Sub-Zero was originally conceived as a character named simply Ninja, a mysterious member of "the Lin Kuei, a legendary clan of Chinese ninja."

Robert Downey Jr is 2013 highest paid actor - It's time to dress up Tony Stark in 1/6 clothing set

Robert Downey Jr earned an estimated $75million (nearly £50million) last year, making him the highest paid actor in Hollywood. Robert's massive earnings saw him top Forbes annual list of highest paid actors ahead of Channing Tatum and Hugh Jackman who came second and third respectively.

Much like his millionaire alter-ego Tony Stark, it has been revealed that the Iron Man star is very well paid. But last year he did not even feature in the top 10 list. He has since overtaken the likes of Tom Cruise and Leonardo DiCaprio to the number one spot.

So it's no surprise that there's been quite a lot of 1/6 scale Tony Stark clothing sets floating around and being offered by various manufacturers trying to cash in on Robert Downey Jr's (Tony Stark / Iron Man) popularity. What you see below is the VeryCool company's 1/6 scale Tony Clothing set (VCM-3002) which consists of Long Sleeve Tee, White A.I.M. T-Shirt, Black Hoodie, Blue Jeans and A Pair of Black Shoes. Note: Body and Head are not included. Other accessories featured in the pictures are also not included.

Besides this, there's also the MC Toys MC F-026 Repairman clothing set which consists of a tight fitting T-shirt with digital printing, casual pants and sports shoes. Repairman is a reference to Tony Stark as he tinkers with his Iron Man suits in his basement. Scroll down to see the pictures ;p

Thanks to his role as Iron Man in Avengers: Assemble, which took more than $1.5bn (nearly £1bn) last year, Forbes estimate his earnings to be $75million between June 2012 and June 2013. During this time he also put on his superhero suit again for the third film in the Iron Man franchise, which fared just as well at the box office, taking more than $1.2bn.

Robert said that he was honoured to be part of the Avengers project, even if he was part of the expensive sale of comic company Marvel to mass media conglomerate Disney. "I feel like I got sold to Disney for $4 billion dollars," he said jokingly to Screen Rant.

"It's been very humbling because I always realise that you're just kind of part of this thing, you know?" he said. "And I think the problems begin when any one person involved in particularly anything that’s successful decides that they have some sort of ownership to it, because really, this is something that Stan Lee scratched down going on, what, 50 years ago now."

Robert has reinvented himself thanks to his roles as Tony Stark / Iron Man and Sherlock Holmes. He struggled for work after his Oscar-nominated portrayal of Charlie Chaplin in the 1992 film Chaplin. This was mostly due to his addiction to drugs and alcohol.

MC Toys MC F-026 1/6 scale Repairman clothing set will come with Compression Short Sleeve T-Shirt, Pants and Sport Shoes. Again 12-inch figure Body and 1/6 scale Head sculpt are not included.

Channing Tatum took the second place on the rich list, with a sizeable amount of his $60m earnings this year coming from the 2012 drama about a group of male strippers, Magic Mike. Channing teamed up with Oscar-winning director Stephen Soderbergh to make the film, which was based on the actor's own experiences before he broke into Hollywood. Stephen and Channing financed the film themselves and from a budget of just $7million, the film went on to take $167million.

Hugh Jackman came in third place, earning an estimated $55million over the last year, after his roles in the film adaptation of the musical Les Miserables. Like Robert, he has also made his millions thanks to the success of a superhero franchise. Hugh has reprised his role as Wolverine in the X-Men films, with the latest, The Wolverine, out this month.

Securing fourth place on the list with $52million was Mark Wahlberg, who as well as starring in lewd comedy Ted, has been working behind the scenes as a producer on hit TV show Boardwalk Empire and upcoming films Prisoners and Cocaine Cowboys.

Dwayne Johnson came in fifth place after starring in the sixth installment of the Fast & Furious franchise and securing the titular role in the upcoming Hercules: The Thracian Wars, earning him $52million.

Leonardo DiCaprio fell from joint second place in 2012 to seventh place in 2013, but still brought in $39million for his roles in Django Unchained and The Great Gatsby.

Adam Sandler was joint second with Leo last year, but fell beneath him in seventh place in 2013's list, earning $37million.

Tom Cruise was last year's top earner, taking in $75million between July 2011 and July 2012 thanks to Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol and Rock of Ages. This year, his $35million earnings from Jack Reacher and Oblivion saw him take eighth place on the list.

In ninth and tenth place were action men Denzel Washington with $33million and Liam Neeson with $32million.

Dirty Harry is a 1971 American crime thriller produced and directed by Don Siegel, the first in the Dirty Harry film series. Clint Eastwood plays the title role, in his first outing as San Francisco Police Department Inspector "Dirty" Harry Callahan. Dirty Harry was a critical and commercial success and set the style for a whole genre of police films. The film was followed by four sequels: Magnum Force in 1973, The Enforcer in 1976, Sudden Impact in 1983 (directed by Eastwood himself), and The Dead Pool in 1988.

Inspector Harold Francis "Dirty Harry" Callahan is a fictional San Francisco police detective in the Dirty Harry film series, becoming the template for a new kind of movie cop: someone who does not hesitate to cross professional and ethical boundaries in pursuit of his own vision of justice, especially when the law is poorly served by an inept bureaucracy.

"Fetch that Cobra!" Hot Toys 1/6 scale G.I. Joe Retaliation Snake Eyes figure & pet wolf Timber

Snake Eyes is one of the most prominent characters in the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero franchise (which includes toyline, comic books and cartoon series), and has appeared in every series since its inception. He is portrayed by Ray Park in the 2009 live-action film "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra", and the 2013 sequel "G.I. Joe: Retaliation". As part of his profile, Snake Eyes has a pet wolf named Timber that has appeared several times in toys, comics, and animation.

Having gotten the exceptional Hot Toys 1/6th scale G.I. Joe Retaliation: Snake Eyes 12-inch Ninja Collectible Figure (reviewed earlier HERE and HERE), I thought Snake Eyes would be incomplete without his pet wolf Timber so I added it to these pictures :) I had bought Timber wolf loose at a flea market, having seen it being included as part of the Sideshow Collectibles G.I. Joe 12-inch Snake Eyes And 1/6 scale Timber Figure Set (previewed HERE). I wasn't keen on Sidehow's version of Snake Eyes (never have been) so I was quite pleased to be able to just pick up Timber.

Timber comes with movable joints and its body is in three parts so that you are able to pose it. 1/6 scale Timber wolf is sculpted very well but he's also very heavy. How heavy? He's heavy like a brick which is odd because normally everything else in 1/6 scale that is not a statue doesn't weigh this much. He's heavier than most (if not all) of my 12-inch figures.

According to Sideshow Collectibles, Timber is Fully Posable with 12 points of articulation. I really don't think that you can pose him very much :( Unlike a 12-inch human figure which can be fully pose-able if it's not restricted by the clothing or armor that is put on him, Timber is pretty much set in this pose and even though you can move his legs to achieve some running poses, I doubt you can make him sit and fetch or roll over like a real dog would ;p That said, I just like me a 1/6 scale wolf!

And because of Timber's heavy weight, it puts a lot of pressure on the joints and makes it very difficult for him to stand, let alone be posed in any other way.

What attracted me to Timber was the sculpting. It's a very good sculpt in itself though adding the movable joints to make it pose-able was a tad ambitious.

The Silver Centurion is a classic suit worn by Tony Stark in the Iron Man comics and has been a fan favorite since its debut. Marvel’s Iron Man 3 has brought back this popular armor and restyled it to join the rest of the Iron Legion. Hot Toys is delighted to introduce this amazingly designed armor – the 1/6th scale Silver Centurion (Mark XXIII) Collectible Figurine, the Enhanced Energy Suit to its Movie Masterpiece Series. It is specially crafted based on the image of Robert Downey Jr. as Silver Centurion in the movie, highlighting the detailed head sculpt, red and silver-colored armor, interchangeable battle damaged chest armor, forearm blades, and LED light-up functions.
