HPC Toys Film Series 002 1/6 scale "Jail Hero" 12-inch Nicolas Cage action figure REVIEW II

continued from previous post...

This is HPC Toys second project: Film Series 002 1/6 scale "Jail Hero". I have already posted a first-part review of the box packaging and contents with detailed pictures and close-up views HERE and now for the second-part review, we just have to see how the figure looks with his prison shirt on. In the action movies, it's usually the other way around i.e. he comes in with full wardrobe and wears less and less clothes as the film progresses, a formula made successful by Die-Hard where the everyday cop (Bruce Willis as John McClane) gets caught in a terrorist takeover of an office building and must try to stop the terrorists and save his wife all by himself.

Interestingly enough, John McClane from Die-Hard 5 "A Good Day to Die Hard" was HPC Toys first figure released. Reviews of HPC Toys Film Series 001 1/6 scale "A Cop Never Dies" 12-inch figure posted in my toy blog earlier HERE and HERE :)

HPC Toys Film Series 002 1/6 scale "Jail Hero" 12-inch collectible figure is wearing the blue prison shirt over his white tank top and blue jeans with black belt. He also has on a pair of black suede leather boots. He is armed with a 1/6 scale Browning Hi Power 9mm pistol with slide release lever which is the safety that blocks the trigger when the hammer is back. Scroll down to see more pictures

As covered in the previous post, the white bunny is the only thing Cameron Poe (Nicolas Cage) has to connect him with the real world where he longs to be reunited with his wife and daughter whom he has never seen, having been sent to prison for eight years for killing a man who was threatening his then pregnant wife who was carrying his child. All these events are recored in the 1997 film "Con Air" on which this 12-inch figure is based upon.

Close-up of HPC Toys Film Series 002 1/6 scale "Jail Hero" 12-inch collectible figure with Nicolas Cage as Cameron Poe head sculpt. Under the clothes is the HPC Toys 12-inch Narrow shoulder muscle PVC and ABS body (see more pictures HERE)

And here's a picture taken of HPC Toys Film Series 002 1/6 scale "Jail Hero" 12-inch figure (left) standing side-by-side with HPC Toys Film Series 001 1/6 scale "A Cop Never Dies" 12-inch figure (right). These are very nice figures and are highly recommended if you are into movie-related figures.

Check HPC Toys out on FB and LIKE their page HERE to get updates. They deserve our support for wanting to make affordable collectible figures for us :) Excited to see what movie figure they come up with next.

For purchasing the figure the best way is to buy it from HPC Toys directly on FB (link HERE).

Happy National Day to all Singaporeans with 3D Crystal Jigsaw Puzzle Astro Boy on August 9

Every year I try to do a post just for Singapore's National Day which is on August 9. It has special significance because I was born in the same year Singapore gained her independence so as the nation gets younger, so do I

I am very proud of my country and even though many people like to complain about our government, I think we are most blessed with a very good government that takes care of most of our needs. Sure the prices of cars are ridiculous but at least I'm not stuck in traffic jams every time I decide to drive on the roads. Public Transport is most efficient and lifestyle is GREAT. Crime is low and there are no natural disasters to worry about because we are very well protected. Everything is clean (a big part to the credit of our city's cleaners) and everything works (most of the time). I wouldn't want to live anywhere else in the world. It's always nice to be able to go on holidays (thanks to Singapore's economy and strong currency which we have to give the government credit for) but it's always feels nice to come home to where family and friends are. There's a lot to be thankful for!

This year I chose Astro Boy to celebrate with the nation's birthday. Every year Singapore celebrates her birthday with a National Day Parade organized by Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) with the involvement of a multitude of public and private organizations. In every parade, there are always two main segments: the traditional parade and ceremony followed by the show segment. This particular 3D Crystal Jigsaw Puzzle Astro Boy is in the marching pose which fits in nicely with the parade segment. Scroll down to see more pictures

I grew up watching Astro Boy on television so it does invoke some nostalgia when it comes to Astro Boy.

Astro Boy (鉄腕アトム Tetsuwan Atomu, "Mighty Atom," lit. "Iron Arm Atom") is a Japanese manga series first published in 1952. The story follows the adventures of a robot named Astro Boy and a selection of other characters along the way. Astro Boy was adapted into the first popular animated Japanese television series that embodied the aesthetic that later became familiar worldwide as anime.

Frank Miller definitely had Astro Boy in mind when he wrote the 1995 comic book "The Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot". The story revolves around an attack on Tokyo by a giant reptilian creature that is originated in an experiment gone wrong, and the failure of the newly-commissioned Rusty the Boy Robot to stop the threat. Subsequently, Japan requested help from the U.S. Armed Forces, whose ultimate defense, the robot Big Guy, launches from his air carrier base and uses his awesome arsenal and good old-fashioned American know-how to save the day.

I also have a fascination with transparent and see-through stuff and this 3D Crystal Jigsaw Puzzle Astro Boy certainly fits in well for me.

This 3D Crystal Jigsaw Puzzle Astro Boy consists of 40 puzzle pieces which you stack and join from the bottom up layer by layer and this is the end result. Pretty neat :)

Astro Boy's arms can be raised and lowered and the head can be turned as well.

Astro Boy marching proudly in celebrating Singapore's National Day

The Astro Boy 3D Crystal Jigsaw Puzzle also comes with a sticker sheet that lets you put on the eyes and mouth plus his green belt but I prefer mine this way

I like that they made the base unique in the distinct head shape of Astro Boy with his name on it as well

Here's a look at the box it came in with the stickers applied

From the menacing portrayal in movie trailer to the actual film that brings an unexpected twist, The Mandarin has been one of the most attention-grabbing characters in Iron Man 3. Coo Model Item No:18001 1/6 scale Cowboy Skull Brothers Big Brother (with Movable eyes)

Make no bones about it ;p This has to be one of the weirdest things I have ever seen in 1/6 scale!

This is the upcoming Coo Model Item No:18001 1/6 scale Cowboy Skull Brothers BOSS Big Brother (with Movable eyes). It will come with 1/6 scale Head (skull actually), 12-inch Skeleton body, skeleton Hands x 6, a pair of cowboy boots / Shoes, cowboy Hat, gun Belt and normal belt, two Holsters, Shotgun (looks like a Winchester 1866 Model Yellow Boy), Pistol / Revolver looks like a Colt 1851 Navy .36 with cartridge conversion, Metal Bullets x 6, Shotgun bullets x 6 (Winchester comes with shotgun cartridges?), pair of Eyes, Robe, Scarf, Clothes (?)

Coo Model has already released their 1/6 scale Skeleton Soldier 12-inch figure (previewed HERE) which does resemble the stop-motion skeleton soldiers seen in the 1963 fantasy feature film "Jason and the Argonauts" but this Western style skeleton takes the cake. The comical expression just doesn't do it and the freaky eyes don't help either. Coo Model Item No:18001 1/6 scale Cowboy Skull Brothers BOSS Big Brother (with Movable eyes) seems to be inspired by "The Good, The Bad and the Ugly", a 1966 Italian epic Spaghetti western film directed by Sergio Leone, starring Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef, and Eli Wallach in the title roles respectively.

I do like all the 1/6 scale cowboy stuff, just not the skeleton figure.

Review Toys 'R' Us True Heroes AB-115 Shark (Lockheed C-130 Hercules in The Dark Knight?)

$

The Lockheed C-130 Hercules is a four-engine turboprop military transport aircraft designed and built originally by Lockheed, now Lockheed Martin. Capable of using unprepared runways for takeoffs and landings, the C-130 was originally designed as a troop, medical evacuation, and cargo transport aircraft.

The versatile airframe has found uses in a variety of other roles, including as a gunship (AC-130), for airborne assault, search and rescue, scientific research support, weather reconnaissance, aerial refueling, maritime patrol, and aerial firefighting. It is now the main tactical airlifter for many military forces worldwide. Over 40 models and variants of the Hercules serve with more than 60 nations. (source: wiki)

This is the Toys 'R' Us exclusive True Heroes AB-115 Shark Plane which looks very much like the Lockheed C-130 Hercules. This set comes complete with a gigantic plane with free-spinning wheels and propellers, side-mounted machine gun ports, an internal command center and light-and-sound action. Some accessories and 3 action figures are also included. Scroll down to see the rest of the pictures and click on them for bigger and better views :)

The Toys 'R' Us exclusive True Heroes AB-115 Shark Plane features: Wingspan of 34 inches with free-spinning wheels and propellers, side-mounted machine gun ports and a command center; Two options for light-and-sound action to simulate firepower (3 button-cell batteries are included); Top handle for easy transport. Weight: 8 lbs (pounds)

The C-130 entered service with U.S. in the 1950s, followed by Australia and others. During its years of service, the Hercules family has participated in countless military, civilian and humanitarian aid operations. The family has the longest continuous production run of any military aircraft in history.

In 2007, the C-130 became the fifth aircraft—after the English Electric Canberra, Boeing B-52 Stratofortress, Tupolev Tu-95, and Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker—to mark 50 years of continuous use with its original primary customer, in this case, the United States Air Force. The C-130 is also the only military aircraft to remain in continuous production for 50 years with its original customer, as the updated C-130J Super Hercules.

The Lockheed C-130 Hercules has also been featured in many films, most recently seen in The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises which makes it a star of its own ;p

The Lockheed C-130 Hercules is an amazing workhorse and so versatile. It holds a special meaning for me because it was the first plane I ever flew in :) Back in my NS days, we had to rely on military transport when we went overseas for training. At that time, commercial flights were not an option. What a trip it was for me! My first flight ever was on the military Charlie-130. Noisy and no flight stewardesses to ogle but the first feeling of being lifted up off the ground is unforgettable.

This Toys 'R' Us exclusive True Heroes AB-115 Shark Plane (which resembles the Lockheed C-130 Hercules) comes with opening doors and ramp as well

The wing can be removed to reveal the plane interior with an internal command center and side-mounted machine gun ports

Incoming: COO MODEL - Item No: 18002 1/6 scale Cowboy Skull Brothers #2 - improvement?

It seems Coo Model does take collectors' feedback and comments into account. After the horrendous looking previews of the Coo Model Item No:18001 1/6 scale Cowboy Skull Brothers Big Brother (with Movable eyes) - pictures HERE - COO MODEL has now released new pictures of their Item No: 18002 1/6 scale Cowboy Skull Brother #2 12-inch cowboy skeleton figure. What's the difference? Coo Model has decided to go back to using the realistic looking skull head and skeletal hands from their original 12-inch skeleton soldier figure (to be reviewed in the NEXT post) which looks much better IMHO

COO MODEL Item No: 18002 1/6 scale Cowboy Skull Brothers #2 12-inch skeleton figure will come with 1/6 scale skull Head, 12-inch Skeleton body, skeletal Hands x 6, a pair of cowboy Shoes, cowboy Hat, gun Belt and normal belt, two Holsters, Shotgun (looks like a Winchester 1866 Model Yellow Boy), Pistol / Revolver (looks like a Colt 1851 Navy .36 with cartridge conversion), Metal Bullets x 6, Shotgun bullets x 6 (Winchester comes with shotgun cartridges?), pair of Eyes, Robe, Scarf, Clothes (?)

The 1/6 scale outfit and accessories, including weapons included with this set is almost identical with Coo Model Item No:18001 1/6 scale Cowboy Skull Brother BOSS figure (except for the vest with nipple tassels? hahaha) which makes me wonder if Coo Model will be releasing both versions (different item numbers) or just this latest version after getting all the negative feedback regarding the first previewed version. This definitely looks much better than the previous version (seen HERE) but how well it does will depend on the final factor and that is the PRICE! How much will this cost? We'll have to wait and see... In the meantime, scroll down to see the rest of the pictures :)

The skeleton removes his robe to reveal a cowboy vest with nipple tassels LOL

Review 1: Coo Model 1/6 scale Skeleton Soldier 12-inch figure from "Jason & the Argonauts" ?

This is the recently released Coo Model 1/6 scale Simulated Human Skeleton Soldier 12-inch figure that comes with 1/6 scale Human skull head and 12-inch human skeleton body, Skeletal Hand x 6, Shield and Sword. Additional accessories include: Attachments / connectors of hand, foot connectors which support HT interface. This 1/6 scale skeleton figure looks a lot better than the 1/6 scale Cowboy Skull Brother Boss skeleton figure (previewed HERE) that Coo Model is trying to get collectors interested.

In one of the scenes from the classic 1963 Columbia Pictures fantasy feature film "Jason and the Argonauts", King Aeëtes sows the Hydra's teeth after praying to the goddess Hecate, producing a skeletal warrior from each. Jason and two of his men have to fight off the skeleton soldiers. This was before CGI and all the visual effects were created by Ray Harryhausen who created a form of stop-motion model animation known as "Dynamation." His most memorable works include the animation on Mighty Joe Young (1949), with his mentor Willis H. O'Brien, which won the Academy Award for special effects; The 7th Voyage of Sinbad (1958), his first color film; and Jason and the Argonauts (1963), featuring a famous sword fight against seven skeleton warriors. His last film was Clash of the Titans (1981), after which he retired.

Coo Model 1/6 scale Skeleton Soldier 12-inch figure comes in a very standard box with the skeleton figure placed inside the tray with shield visible.

The instructions for Coo Model 1/6 scale Skeleton Soldier 12-inch figure are very comprehensive with lots of Do's and Don'ts. Click on the pictures for bigger and better views. It is most advisable to read the instructions before proceeding to pose or play with the figure.

Here's Coo Model 1/6 scale Skeleton Soldier straight out of the box, waving and saying "Hi" and "Hello". The joints are nice and tight, and the 12-inch skeleton figure has no problems standing on its own. No figure display stand is required (nor is it included).

continued from previous post...

Here's the Coo Model 1/6 scale Skeleton Soldier 12-inch figure complete with his sword and shield :) How do I like my skeletons? This suits me just fine. Always wanted a 12-inch articulated simulated human skeleton figure and finally I have my hands on one. For those of us who are old enough and have watched the 1963 Columbia Pictures fantasy feature film "Jason and the Argonauts", we all remember the famous sword fight scene where Jason had to do battle against seven skeleton warriors. This was before computers and CGI so it was all stop-motion model animation created by Ray Harryhausen. What a thrill it was and such a classic too!

Coo Model 1/6 scale Simulated Human Skeleton Soldier 12-inch figure comes with 1/6 scale Human skull head and 12-inch human skeleton body, Skeletal Hand x 6, Shield and Sword. Additional accessories include: Attachments / connectors of hand, foot connectors which support HT interface. I have covered the box packaging, instruction manual, basic skeleton figure which has very good and tight joints as well as the accessories in my previous post HERE. This toy blog post is just about how all the parts come together. Scroll down to see the rest of the pictures.

As mentioned previously, this Coo Model 1/6 scale 12-inch Skeleton Soldier figure can stand on its own two feet without the need for a figure display stand which is great as that is how I like to display my action figures. They look more realistic when they can stand by themselves, on their own without needing any support.

Know what we need next? A skeleton in pirate clothes. In the 2003 American adventure fantasy film "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl", the pirates have been turned into immortal skeletal beings whose true forms are revealed in moonlight due to a curse placed on them.

I am really liking this Coo Model 1/6 scale Skeleton Soldier 12-inch figure complete with his sword and shield

Size comparison pics of some 12-inch action figures with Coo Model 1/6 scale Skeleton Soldier

continued from previous post...

Having reviewed the Coo Model 1/6 scale Skeleton Soldier HERE and HERE, how about some comparison pictures of Coo Model 1/6 scale Simulated Human Skeleton Soldier 12-inch figure with other 12-inch figures? Let's see how they stack up against each other? Size is always a bit of a concern in 1/6 scale. You want to know if the manufacturer got the scale and size right especially if you want to display all the figures together. A good example would be Darth Vader. He cannot be the same size / height as the Stormtroopers. That would be wrong. That's why Medicom Toys supposedly 1/6 scale Darth Vader was a big disappointment :( check out the comparison pics HERE

So how tall is the Coo Model 1/6 scale Simulated Human Skeleton Soldier figure and how does it look when placed together with other 12-inch action figures? Scroll down to find out the answer plus see size comparison pictures with ACI 1/6 Roman Gladiator "Flamma" 12-inch figure, Kaustic Plastik's 12-inch figures, HPC Toys Film series 12-inch figure and Hot Toys True Type TTM21 12-inch figure body.

First of all: Comparison pictures of Coo Model 1/6 scale Skeleton Soldier standing side-by-side with ACI 1/6 Roman Gladiator "Flamma" 12-inch figure and Kaustic Plastik 1/6 scale "Celadus" Roman gladiator 12-inch figure. They do seem to come from the same period in history based on the sword that they are all carrying.

Both ACI 1/6 Roman Gladiator "Flamma" 12-inch figure and Kaustic Plastik 1/6 scale "Celadus" Roman gladiator 12-inch figure were released in 2011 but I've never taken pictures of them side-by-side until now

Here's the Coo Model 1/6 scale Simulated Human Skeleton Soldier figure standing next to the Kaustic Plastik 1/6 scale "Celadus" Roman gladiator 12-inch figure which was reviewed HERE in November 2011

And here are ACI 1/6 Roman Gladiator "Flamma" 12-inch figure and Kaustic Plastik 1/6 scale "Celadus" Roman gladiator 12-inch figure standing side-by-side. ACI 1/6 Roman Gladiator "Flamma" 12-inch figure has been reviewed HERE and looks to be bigger than Kaustic Plastik 1/6 scale "Celadus" Roman gladiator. Kaustic Plastik first released Roman gladiator figures appear to be smaller in size but they would soon correct this size issue

Here's the latest released Kaustic Plastik 1/6 scale Athletik Muscle Body KP03B Caucasian version standing next to the 2011 released Kaustic Plastik 1/6 scale "Celadus" Roman gladiator. You can see how much bigger the 12-inch body is. NOTE: I switched the head of the Kaustic Plastik Athletik Muscle Body KP03B to a Hot Toys Chris Hemsworth Thor head sculpt. Got something planned but haven't quite gotten to it yet ;p

Mary Jane's first words to Peter Parker, is one of the most famous quotations in superhero comic book history. The quotation is duplicated in nearly every continuity in which Mary Jane appears and repeated in nearly every flashback to their first encounter.

Mary Jane Watson is the quintessential girl next door, exuberant and charming, she's the light of Peter Parker's life. Designed by the incomparable J. Scott Campbell, Sideshow brings this irresistible comic siren to life in the Mary Jane Comiquette, the first release in our J. Scott Campbell Spider-Man Collection. Cast in high quality polystone, MJ is hand painted with a new high-contrast technique, creating added depth and dimension to each piece.

The statue measures 11.5" H x 5.75" W x 5.75" D and was sculpted by Steve Schumacher, painted by Kat Sapene and, of course, based off of J. Scott Campbell's design. I'm not a big fan of statues because they are usually cast in stone in a fixed pose with zero articulation plus there are no 1/6 scale fabric outfit / costumes or accessories including highly detailed weapons but this really is a very nice statue :) all thanks to J. Scott Campbell's beautiful design. Scroll down to see the rest of the pictures of this beautiful statue, including some taken at the 2013 SDCC.

Mary Jane Watson, often shortened to MJ, is a fictional supporting character appearing originally in Marvel comic books and later in multiple spin-offs and dramatizations of the Spider-Man titles as the best friend, love interest, and one-time wife (as Mary Jane Watson-Parker) of Peter Parker, the alter ego of Spider-Man. This was after the tragic death of Gwen Stacy, and initially upon her introduction, she had a friendly rivalry with Gwen for Peter's affections. (source: wiki)

Actress Kirsten Dunst played Mary Jane in the Spider-Man film series with Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker / Spider-Man. Gwen Stacy (Bryce Dallas Howard) was introduced in Spider-Man 3.

"Let's Play!" Review World Box Lakor GO BABY series 1/6 scale "Scout GO” baby 6-inch figure

$

Yup! Believe it or not, I got myself this World Box Lakor GO BABY series 1/6 scale "Scout GO” baby 6-inch figure. I wasn't keen on the baby superheroes (Bat baby, Iron Baby, Ultra Baby) and villain (The Joker) from World Box Lakor "Take Happiness Home" but this Scout Go Baby caught my eye ;p and it's mainly because of the gas mask and bunny costume. Somehow putting the two together and combining them has a certain quirkiness to it which I like. A little bit of "Where the Wild Things Are" by American writer / illustrator Maurice Sendak and also "Alice in Wonderland" kind of peculiarity. Imagining falling down a rabbit hole into a fantasy world populated by peculiar, anthropomorphic creatures.

I think World Box SCOUT GO BABY Action Figure is meant to penetrate the 12-inch military figures market just like how their superhero babies have done by targeting Hot Toys MMS (Movie Masterpiece Series) collectors who want a mini-me type of figure next to their 1/6 scale realistic move figures of The Joker, Batman and Iron Man. Besides the bunny costume and gas mask, this World Box Lakor GO BABY series 1/6 scale "Scout GO” baby 6-inch figure also comes with military style accessories. Scroll down to see the rest of the pictures

The box packaging is squarish in shape and small (half the size of regular 12-inch figure boxes) and the back graphics shows four silhouettes of the same figure or perhaps World Box is suggesting that there might be at least three more figures coming from this line.

There's also a postcard size card with an illustration of the "Scout GO” baby included

I am certainly NOT a fan of baby-face figures and I'm most glad that a full face gas mask is included with this set.

1/6 scale accessories include: AK gun with Rifle sling, SPC Vest with Badge, MOLLE Pouches, Chocolate stick x 4 (3 + 1), GPRS, Dump Pouch, Watch Cap (knit cap also known as Tuque), Gas mask, Anti-noise earphone

Question: How does the Scout Go Baby eat the chocolate bar with his gas mask on? Go figure haha

Liking the gas mask a lot, especially since it covers the entire baby's face

continued from previous post...

This is the World Box Lakor GO BABY series 1/6 scale "Scout GO” baby 6-inch figure with his full gear on: SPC assault vest, MOLLE pouches, dump pouch and AK rifle. SCOUT GO BABY Action Figure Manufactured by World Box is approximately 6 inches tall (150 mm) and Features: 1/6 scale Baby Head, 6-inch Body (150 mm), Camouflage clothing (a fur-lined rabbit bunny outfit / costume), Gas mask, SPC Vest, MOLLE Pouch, Dump Pouch, Anti-noise earphone, AK gun with Rifle sling, Gloved hands, Badge, GPRS, Watch Cap (knit cap also known as Tuque) and Chocolate bar x 4 (3 + 1 half-eaten).

In my first part toy blog review HERE, I have covered the box packaging and contents in great detail with close-up shots of the parts and accessories. In this second part review, I wanted to show how I will be displaying this World Box Lakor GO BABY series 1/6 scale "Scout GO” baby 6-inch action figure. This turned out pretty cool as long as you keep the gas mask on the baby's face haha Scroll down to see the rest of the pictures including a comparison shot with a 12-inch figure to get an idea of size

I liked what Ted said to me: "He looks like a MODERN DAY version of MAX from Maurice Sendak's classic, WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE." Indeed he does ;p

This SCOUT GO BABY Action Figure has a certain quirkiness to it which I like. A little bit of "Where the Wild Things Are" by American writer / illustrator Maurice Sendak and also "Alice in Wonderland" kind of peculiarity. Imagining falling down a rabbit hole into a fantasy world populated by peculiar, anthropomorphic creatures but instead of the white rabbit you met this bunny. It'll be like Sucker Punch meets Alice in Wonderland.

Baby doesn't care to bring extra magazines to the fight. Instead, he fills his MOLLE pouches with chocolate bars for when he gets hungry LOL

The Skull head badge looks pretty cool too

World Box Lakor GO BABY series 1/6 scale "Scout GO” baby's 1/6 scale GPRS is stored in his Dump Pouch. Check out my post HERE to see details of the GPRS

The Anti-noise earphone / Ear Defender fits nicely on his head, as does the assault vest on his body which means that the vest cannot be 1/6 scale since a 1/6 scale vest meant for a 12-inch figure would be too big to fit a baby (more likely a toddler if one is to be politically correct)

Imagine a world where the Easter Bunny comes at you with an AK rifle

The closest fighting bunny I've seen is the Hugh Jackman Easter Bunny from "Rise of the Guardians", a 2012 American 3D computer-animated fantasy film based on William Joyce's The Guardians of Childhood book series and The Man in the Moon short film by Joyce and Reel FX.

Check out these close-up views of the fully armed and attired World Box Lakor GO BABY series 1/6 scale "Scout GO” baby 6-inch action figure

And here's a comparison picture of World Box Lakor SCOUT GO BABY 6-inch figure standing alongside a 12-inch figure of Nicolas Cage as ex-U.S. Army Ranger Cameron Poe as seen in "Con Air" by HPC Toys (reviewed earlier HERE and HERE). Nobody messes with the white "stuffed" bunny :)

Preview DC Collectibles Batman: Hush graphic novel Batman & Catwoman The Kiss Statue

The original and most widely known Catwoman, Selina Kyle, first appeared in Batman #1 (Spring 1940) in which she is known as The Cat. She is usually depicted as an adversary of Batman, known for having a complex love-hate relationship with him. During the Batman: Hush storyline, Batman and Catwoman briefly work together and have a romantic relationship.

Inspired by the art of Jim Lee and the popular Batman miniseries, "Hush," this gorgeous statue proves that nighttime is good for far more than fighting crime. Guaranteed to sweep you off your feet without the use of a bat-grapple, look out for this statue in your favorite comic book shop or specialty store.

The Dark Knight and the Feline Fatale steal a kiss in this intricately sculpted statue ripped from the pages of the best-selling BATMAN: HUSH graphic novel, illustrated by superstar artist Jim Lee. Limited Edition of 2500. Measures Approximately 11 inches Tall.

I don't know about you but opening your eyes while kissing isn't very romantic, is it? Shame on you Batman, unless you were sneaking a peek. Sneaking a peek is okay but with eyes wide open? haha

On wikiHow: Close your eyes just before your lips touch. Some people enjoy looking into their partner's eyes when kissing, but for most, it's a huge creepy turn off. Keep them closed and you will enjoy it more. Think about how blind people sense so much more than sighted people, the same principle applies. You will get a more rushing sensation from the touch and feel of a kiss if your eyes are relaxed and closed.

Use your hands! Don't let your arms awkwardly hang there. Guys, your hands should be around her back, waist, or on the sides of her face. Girls, your hands can be in a NUMBER of places, including: around his neck, on the sides of HIS face, on his stomach, on his hips, or a guy's favorite, on his biceps. Also don't be afraid to run your fingers through your partner's hair, just make sure your hair is clean just in case it happens to YOU!

Certainly nice to see Batman getting some love ;p these two always seem to have a chemistry going.

The Bat and the Cat stealing a kiss on a rooftop

Even in the films, Batman and Catwoman seem to have a thing for each other. In the 1992 Tim Burton directed "Batman Returns", Selina Kyle (Michelle Pfeiffer) falls in love with Bruce Wayne (Michael Keaton) but the story has a tragic ending

Then again in the 2012 Christopher Nolan directed movie "The Dark Knight Rises", Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) hooks up with Selina Kyle (Anne Hathaway) and by the end of the film, they seem to live happily ever after.

Enjoy the kiss Batman, you deserve it :)

Bandai Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Megazord – Blast from the Past (How Time Flies)

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is an American live-action children's television series about teenagers with super-powers, based on the 16th installment of the Japanese Super Sentai franchise, Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger. Both the show and its related merchandise saw unbridled overnight success, becoming a staple of 1990s pop culture in mere months. Under the original name, "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" the series ran from 1993 to 1995 and spawned the feature film Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie. (source: wiki)

The first set of Zords in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers are the Dinozords, which are based on prehistoric creatures and consist of the Mastodon, Pterodactyl, Triceratops, Sabertooth Tiger, and Tyrannosaurus. These five combine to form the Megazord.

This set of Bandai Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Megazord toy set belongs to my eldest son who was given these to play with when he was growing up. At the time, the TV series was showing every Saturday morning and he would be glued to the TV set watching his favorite TV shows. We kept these around all these years because it's just too sentimental to throw away

I liked the concept of these colossal assault machines called Zords, which can combine into the Megazord. I love me some Mastodon, Pterodactyl, Triceratops, Sabertooth Tiger, and Tyrannosaurus. Click on the pictures for bigger and better views

Unfortunately, the Triceratops is missing its horns :( probably misplaced somewhere and I didn't notice it until after I had taken these pictures. Got to start looking for them in the loose parts stash.

Growing up with Ultraman, Kaijus, Godzilla and the Giant Robots, and watching these mega monsters and machines slug it out really left quite an impression. So seeing your child getting hooked on the same things when they are growing up kind of helps build the bonds and gives you something similar which you can identify with them.

Bandai Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Tyrannosaurus

Bandai Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Sabertooth Tiger

Bandai Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Triceratops (missing its horns)

Bandai Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Mastodon

Bandai Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Pterodactyl

All five combine to form Megazord. These are simple transformations for them to start with. As they grow older, they'll find new challenges with the "Beast Wars: Transformers" (see all of them HERE)

How time flies. These toys are now almost twenty years old. Certainly not as old as some of the vintage toys I own but it certainly brings a certain perspective because these are the ones we have kept with us since then whereas the vintage toys were bought as an adult. These will probably stay with us for many more years to come. Perhaps to be passed on to the grandchildren LOL

"There's a storm coming!"

In "The Dark Knight Rises (2012)", John Blake (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) while looking for Bruce Wayne / Batman (Christian Bale) spots Selina Kyle / Catwoman (Anne Hathaway) getting into a cab and tails her to the airport. Selina is trying to get out of the city after having seen Bane (Tom Hardy) defeat Batman the night before. She is afraid and wants to leave Gotham City.

John Blake: Bane? What do you know about him?
Selina Kyle: That you should be as afraid of him as I am.

This Very Cool 1/6 scale Elegant Lady Outfit Set looks very similar to the one Selina Kyle / Catwoman (Anne Hathaway) was seen wearing when she leaves for the airport but was apprehended by Blake just as she is walking down the jet bridge trying to make her getaway.

Very Cool 1/6 scale Elegant Lady Outfit Set (Product No:VCF-2013) will come with Black Hat Black Jacket, Black dress, Black Pantyhose, Stiletto heels, Black Faux Leather Hand-bag (overnight bag / carry-on). Note: Head sculpt and body are not included.

This will make a great custom Selina Kyle Airport Scene from The Dark Knight Rises

What else can one use this for? With a little imagination, you can kitbash a young and rich widow coming home from the bank after the funeral service (Widow in Black?) or an female assassin in disguise.

This Very Cool 1/6 scale Elegant Lady Outfit Set and the PIRP 1/6 scale Catwoman Custom set comprising evening dress, maid uniform & prison garb (previewed HERE) almost covers all the attire Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle / Catwoman wore in "The Dark Knight Rises (2012)". It's getting weirder with OE (original effect) 1/6 Collectible Figure Vol.5 - Cello female figure

There have been four female figures already featured in Original Effect's Army Attractive Series with names like Viola (posted HERE), Hasuike Sunayuki (preview HERE), Harp Bullseye (pictures HERE) and Endless. And now they are adding a fifth: Cello. Note: this does not take into account the Killer Instinct Series Vol. 1 Sam female figure (previewed HERE)

Some backstory from OE (Original Effect): Each country successively cracks the remodeled fighting capacity of NAXI and can successfully develop well-matched green-pupil adepts. Cello is a new group of adepts of NAXI after Viola. It has yellow snake eyes, which are completely different from the previous Viola and Sunayuki, etc. in eye color. Its capacity is also subversively stronger than green-pupil adepts, making NAXI renew the peak of adepts. The new yellow-pupil adepts and the previous green-pupil ones greatly repel each other, so NAXI decides to “clear” the previous remodeled forces of all green-pupil adepts including VIOLA. However, the research and development source of green-pupil and yellow-pupil adepts has always been a mystery. The trigger for such genetic mutation will gradually unfold in future Army Attractive!

OE (original effect) 1/6 Collectible Figure Vol.5 - Cello female figure will come with 1/6 scale Cello female head sculpt, Reborn body, Military cap, Overcoat, Underclothes, Underpants, Reaphook and Chain. Scroll down to see the rest of the pictures (including the new female Reborn body)

I'll be the first to tell you: I cannot understand the concept for these female figures. I like Viola and I actually got Viola and will review her in the NEXT post but after Viola, the rest just aren't my cup of tea.

Then there's the new series from OE (original effect): the Killer Instinct Series Vol. 1 1/6 scale Sam female figure. Wasn't blown away at first either but the new revised head sculpt and paint job has me hooked again and I've actually pre-ordered her as well ;p check out the new look HERE

This figure just has too little clothes to interest me LOL not enough fabric and trying a little too hard to get my attention but do check out the new Reborn body (scroll down to the bottom of the page to see it). WARNING: There will be nudity and might not be safe for work (NSFW)

OE (original effect) is showing off their 1/6 scale female Reborn Body. Why? Because the original female body that came with Viola SUCKED big time! Loose limbs doesn't even begin to describe the figure and what a pain it was to photograph her (see my review in the NEXT post)

This new 1/6 scale female Reborn Body looks much better than the original and I believe they are all 13.5 inches tall which makes them a lot taller and bigger than your regular 12-inch figures

Review 1: Original Effect (OE) Army Attractive series 1/6 Viola 13.5-inch female action figure

This is the recently released Original Effect Army Attractive series 1/6 scale Viola female action figure (femfig) which I had gotten in March 2013 (see my toy blog post HERE of my other hauls) but have not reviewed yet until now. Too many toys / figures and too little time ;p

Original Effect Army Attractive series 1/6 scale Viola female action figure comes with 1/6 scale Viola head sculpt, 13.5-inch tall female figure body with high-heeled feet, pair of gloved hands, revolver, cap, Bra / corset top, skirt, belt with holster, stockings, black overcoat with belt, arm band, cigar, tie and comic: Army Attractive Vol.1.

What drew me to this figure was the stylized female head sculpt (blond hair, blue eyes with the come-hither look - what's there not to like haha) combined with the German Nazi-like black dominatrix outfit, all of which speaks of seduction, submission and sensuality. Plus she's an "action" figure and you know I collect action figures and NOT dolls ;p a point I always try to make whenever I can - check out my post HERE for the differences between an action figure and a doll although the line can be rather thin at times, especially when it comes to female figures.

Like I mentioned above, Viola is a 13.5-inch tall female figure which is not the correct scale for 1/6 as she should have been only about 12 inches tall. The box that she comes in is bigger than normal since she is taller than most 1/6 scale figures. When the box lid is lifted, there's a seal with the Original Effect logo which has to be broken to reveal the figure. I just cut the ribbon instead as I didn't want to break the seal.

Original Effect Army Attractive series 1/6 scale Viola 13.5-inch female action figure comes with a comic, Army Attractive Vol.1

Viola comes with a comic but it isn't very well written. It's in English but because it's a direct translation from Chinese, you can read the words but they don't makes sense as there are many errors in translation which makes it hard to understand although you can more or less get the gist of the story from the pictures. I don't think the comic will sell on its own. I only read it because it came with the figure.

The comic is also done in different styles and rendering, starting with computer art (digital) to pencil drawings and sketches for the later part. Ran out of time and couldn't finish? It certainly looks that way.

On with the show. Here's Original Effect Army Attractive series 1/6 scale Viola 13.5-inch female action figure right out of the box, wearing white collar and tie, Bra / corset top, skirt, stockings and high-heeled shoes (no feet)

The figure itself is badly produced as the legs of mine keep popping out from the hip. Plus the joints are very loose. She's like a contortionist but in a bad way with her legs coming off the body almost every time I touch the figure when I try to pose her.

Everything comes off too easily. Like a magician's lovely assistant after being cut into two, with her legs totally separated from her upper torso. I guess that's what they mean by "loose woman" ;p

I like the concept, the sculpt and the body shape but the execution (production piece) just doesn't do it justice which is a pity. Great concept gone to waste :(

Scroll down to see the rest of the turnaround pictures of Original Effect Army Attractive series 1/6 scale Viola 13.5-inch female action figure

Now for close-up shots / pictures / images of Original Effect Army Attractive series 1/6 scale Viola female figure head sculpt

I was drawn to the sculpt and thought I'll give it a try but am sad to report that this will probably be my first and last Original Effect 1/6 scale figure for the following reasons: Too tall for 1/6 scale at 13.5 inches in height and badly produced body with loose joints :(

The tie also looks rather weird, not well made. Could have been better

I have no problems with the Original Effect Army Attractive series 1/6 scale Viola female head sculpt and I still like it a lot

Here are some pictures of the Bra / corset top, skirt and stockings

The Original Effect Army Attractive series 1/6 scale Viola outfit is nice - sexy and seductive
